Basically a season of two halves, the complete and utter joke of a first half with Dross in charge, refusing to play our best players (eg Westwood, who he thought was our 3rd best keeper Doh  Doh ) and going with the kids instead. We started the season with defeat at the mighty Wigan and our first league win didn't come until our fourth game at home v Millwall. We were very poor defensively, leaking 2 goals a game on average. He should have been sacked after the 0-4 reverse to Norwich but he did manage to get us a draw at the Blunts thanks to Dawson's penalty save. He was finally given his P45 after the 2-1 defeat at Swansea Thumb up . Bruce was appointed Manager but wouldn't be joining us till the beginning of February with Agnew, Clemence & Bullen in charge until then. The first thing they did was put Westwood in goal and we recorded back to back 1-0 wins and clean sheets. SB first proper game in charge was a 0-1 win at Ipswich, with Joao getting the winner. We got another 0-0 draw with the Blunts in a fairly dull game. We seemed a long shot for the playoffs but kept picking up points and managed to get within 2 points but defeats against Villa & Leeds and despite valiant point & display at Norwich we fell short and ended finishing 12th.

Those stats have mid table written all over them and that is exactly what we ended up with. But they also show the fine margins between success and mid table, just 3 more wins and a draw rather than defeats in the first half of the season and we would have been right there in the POs. Definitely something for Bruce to build on but for once next season we need a good start for change!!

Just wanted to say an appreciation for putting that together. I don't post so much but often lurking and the input from Imre and everyone is superb. If the stadium rumour is true and along with the high earners we have got rid of and a good bit of business may see us do well next year. Lets hope we don't spunk it on crap like Carlos did.

The play off final season we had a great 11 but not a lot else. All Carlos did was strengthen the team to have a like for like replacement. No one really improved the team. Bruce will sort it im sure.
