Sad news to hear that "Caesar's" battle against dementia is finally over. He was a Celtic icon, a Euro Cup winning captain in 1967, a winner of lotsa league titles and cups and also managed a good number of footie clubs incl Celtic, Hibs, Aberdeen and Aston Villa, RIP.

Sad news today and one that will echo throughout the footballing world. Billy McNeil was an absolute gentleman who was proud of his achievements in the game and considered himself lucky to have done so.
Thoughts are with his family and friends. R I P Billy

Proper old school captain who led by example on and off the park.

His achievements speak for themselves but You also won't find anyone in the game with a bad word to say about him. Nice tributes across the Scottish game for him

And he admitted a huge soft spot for the hibees.

....and the winner today comes in the 67th minute scored by their number 5 which was McNeill's number from his playing days at Celtic.
