CEO Mark Jenkins has released a pretty damming press release regarding the state of our club!! (pretty much the full article - source SSNSmile

Investments have left West Bromwich Albion in need of an overdraft
West Bromwich Albion's new chief executive Mark Jenkins has revealed the club's finances have 'unravelled' over the last 12 months, saying "there is no more money for wages."
Jenkins, who returned to the club last month, said investments made under the leadership of former chairman John Williams and chief executive Martin Goodman have left the club in need of an overdraft for the first time in over 10 years.
Jenkins was speaking following the release of West Brom's accounts for the 2016/17 season, which actually made for positive reading - turnover was up by 40.3 per cent to £137.9m, and pre-tax profits rose from £1m to £39.6m.

West Brom are bottom of the Premier League table
However, Jenkins warned there "is going to be a significant loss in next year's accounts", explaining: "We have wages, transfer fees and loan fees running at record levels and yet we find ourselves in this position (bottom of the Premier League).
"I'll be honest I've come back and I'm shocked at what I have found in some of the decisions that have been made," he said.
Jenkins left the club at the end of 2016, after overseeing 10 seasons in the Premier League during his 14-year stint.

West Bromwich Albion's new CEO has revealed the financial situation of the club
He said: "If I had stayed I certainly would have challenged the new executive team far more than has happened and some of the decisions taken would have been different."  It was also revealed that the club would have to practice caution in order to remain compliant with the Premier League's Short Term Cost Control (STCC) measure, which restricts teams to £7m increases in total salaries each season.
"I've come back and can assure you that we are right at our limit on STCC. There is no more money for wages," said Jenkins.

Mark Jenkins returned to West Brom in February
"It's been painful looking in and seeing the club that I and many, many other people - friends such as Dan Ashworth, Darren Eales - had built up to be an established Premier League club. It has all unravelled in the 12 months or more since I've been away."
West Brom sit bottom of the table, 10 points from safety, with seven games left to play.
"Clearly, it has not been as successful a season. There is going to be a significant loss in next year's accounts. We have wages, transfer fees and loan fees running at record levels and yet we find ourselves in this position." Jenkins said.

It’s not exactly a well kept secret that we’re in a bad way. Any Tom, Dick and Harry can see that we are paying the price for short term planning and relying on one man’s ability to keep a team in the Premier League. We could ask a 90 year old German lady who has no idea about English football and she’d say “West Brom ist nicht gut. Dein Club ist im scheiße”.

All we’ve got to hope is that we can offload a lot of the big wage earners and the fringe players in the summer and replace them with Championship quality players on decent wages preferably from abroad where we can get better quality for less money.

We are not in any debt at all guys we were losing 300k every week before JP came in this is not the case,
If you watch AP presser he said the same, we have a slight overdraft almost every premier league team does we don't have one usually
The overdraft when into the new season will be gone as players wages are halved , we then have parachute payments anyone would think we are going bust,
Yes we will be building from a lower grade of players but we will still be in a stronger position than most and with the right way forward I bet we will be making a profit again
Don't forget all our last 8 premier seasons we have made a profit
Yeah we spent 40 million but all that was profit from the 39 million the year before
We are not in that sort of mess at all
A lot of the papers are headline grabbing
Trust me we will be fine Thumb up

Financially were OK now, but we need to return to the PL immediately or we will slip into obscurity as the parachute payments disappear along with our better players.
