Albion 8 v Notts. County 0 October 1919 and NO I wasn't there!!

However, not long after I started supporting the Baggies we got stuffed at Stamford Bridge 1-7. That was in December 1960.
In the previous season but also in 1960 we beat Birmingham City by the same score at St Andrews.

I believe that our biggest ever win came in 1892 when we beat Darwen 12 - 0
Some days I'm top dog, most days I'm just the lamp post.

St Ives is a very nice place. I have spent some good days there in the past with my family when we used to come on holiday here in Cornwall when we still lived in Tamworth and then with my ex girlfriend when she would visit me. The only time that I'm ever in St Ives now though is when I go swimming in the St Ives Leisure Centre, which has a nice pool and a great view of the bay, every Wednesday night and some Monday nights. However, if I'm ever in St Ives during the day I will make sure to wear my WBA top. Just look out for a 23 year old with a shaved head and that will be me. Smile

Have you ever been to Porthcurno? If you haven't then I suggest you go because it is a wonderful place with a nice beach, beautiful views in the summer and the famous Minack Theatre.

I saw Albion beat Burnley 8-1 at The Hawthorns in the old First Division in I think the 1966-67 season. We were 5-0 up at half-time. The Burnley centre-half that day was John Talbut. We bought him and he was in our FA Cup winning team the following season.

I was there too DD Thumb up Thumb up

...quite why this in the Match Thread I'll NEVER know! Shame on you Mods!!
But Porthcurno is perhaps the loveliest place in Cornwall - can't say the UK as I now live in Saundersfoot and there are some pretty special beaches round here too!!
Anyone on this thread heard of The Baggies?! Confused

Hi pieandbovril, yes Black Lake Junior Mixed (to give it its proper name back in the day) was my junior school from 1961 to 1965. Mr Williams ('Wellygogs') was the headmaster, and there was also a Mr Stanley (who had us standing to attention in the playground), a Miss Preston who got the train from Shrewsbury every day, a Miss Boyd (Boydy Baggy Drawers we called her) and other teachers. The boys and girls had their own playgrounds, and the boys' outside toilets backed onto Bilhay Lane and we used to piss over the wall into the street. Any of that ring any bells?? Big Grin
