A Perfect Storm?
#1
We're slithering down the table quicker than whiting on the deck of a storm-tossed trawler. Several of the crew are injured, others have been confined below for lack of effort. Tom the cabin boy is now our main hope of a goal. The cap'n keeps changing course, but wherever we're set the storm keeps chasing us. Evatt the bo's'n hasn't been sighted above deck in days. Jack the lad, our swash-buckling centre-forward and terror of the high seas, is stranded in port again - he spends more time in court than Ross Poldark ..... And the while we sit mending our nets and tatting our rugs listening to the gale and making up stories of Division 2 to frighten ourselves under a darkling moon.

None of us dare look on Bob's Board. Good Cap'n Danny is sure to be set to walk the plank. Our boys on deck look a sickly, scurvied bunch. That Scottish boy's tending the net..... Two of his defenders aren't defenders and another one was borrowed on the cheap. Cap'n Danny's man in midfield doesn't know where to turn next and the men who should be helping out are down below awaiting a flogging if the damned storm ever lifts. Fleetwood dock on Tuesday night, will the good ship Proact be back in port in time and even if it is how could these dysfunctional seaboys ever save us?

Suggested positive steps for our good Cap'n Danny:-

1. Play Evatt in front of the back four, ask him not to waste his time on much running, just tackle, cover and go up for free kicks and corners ..... and clap Liddle in irons. Play Dimaio and Nolan in front of him ... and then work on attacking options.
2. Tell O'Shea and Gardner they've 3 weeks to get it together or they'll be transfer listed (supply helpful brochures of Hartlepool, Newport and Guiseley as likely future employers if they are lucky!)
3. Contact Charlie Raglan and convince him where his real future lies.
