First of all can I change my prediction from Playoffs to Automatics?
Last night we saw off a strong Walsall team with a style and panache that was exciting and entertaining to watch.
Another all round strong performance with for me Donoghue and Evans the 2 standouts. We were good all over the park but Evans first goal was just sublime. What a strike!
The only times Walsall had chances were when we gave the ball away in silly positions and put ourselves under pressure. Other than that we still don't seem to like players who run at us with the ball. Backing off is not the way to deal with it and if their shot that hit the crossbar had gone in we could have had a different game and outcome.
Fulton didn't have much to do again which shows how much better our defence is. But its the other end of the field that we really have improved. Long may it continue.

Just to add, I thought the ref was weak. Their no 2 Edwards should have had a yellow then a red for firstly barging Gbolly right off the pitch with no attempt at the ball then secondly for blatantly pulling him off the ball in front of the ref who just gave a free kick. Some of his other decisions were somewhat debatable but he at least let the game flow.

I like seeing our name at the top of the league, but it does seem very much an effort by the first eleven at the moment. We might have to face injuries, suspensions, losses of form, court cases, wintry pitches, teams concerned only to stop Ched, transfer windows, myopic and unilateral referees, financial crises, sheer bad luck and everything else imaginable and unimaginable that has conspired to stop this club reaching the Championship throughout my entire lifetime. Can we cope?

Can I?

With Dennis, O'neil, Angel, Lee and Jones yet to come back plus Dennis, Simmons, Dimaio, Raglan I wouldn't worry too much Dev. The squad is probably good enough with maybe 1 addition when SEB goes.

You have to remember that if there are 24 teams I start out hoping for 20th place.

Can we win at Shrewsbury?

Yes of course we can win at Shrewsbury ...if Ched plays the majority of the game .
I like the fact that we have looked decent defensively over the last couple of games with Fulton only having to make a couple of long range collections and no stretching saves.
