Hmmm, it went a bit Len Goodman last night didn't it. SEVEN!

Best SG can do is draw a line and carry on in the league, and I don't mean do a Kenneth Williams and Sid James!

I'm pretty sure someone's telling the Cardiff players.. " Look they just got battered 7-0, now's a good chance to get some points"

We can't let it happen otherwise it's a slippery slope

I'm more concerned about the possible arrival of Russell Slade rather then last night's score line having an adverse affect. I do not think that when our normal back line is playing there will be a lack of confidence. However if Slade is installed before the game then as usual his new team will respond and that may be cause a problem.
Hopefully Orient will be difficult about letting him leave! Whistle

A disappointing 45 minutes when we were all full of hope and expectation at HT.

On the plus side -

Palmer looked like a very decent CM player
Maghoma was much better in the central role (madsteve has mentioned this on various occasions, it is where he was so successful at Burton)
Buxton's match fitness will be much improved
May looked bright and full or running

Negatives -

Kirkland looks completely past it, time for a youngster to step up and get him off the wage bill in Jan
Madine hasn't got it, out the door with Kirkland in Jan
Zayatte still has one big error in his game that costs us. He was outstanding in the 1st half

I just hope now that this isn't the start of a 3/4 game losing streak. I see little point in analysing this on the training ground and rubbing salt in the wounds. Onwards and upwards at Cardiff on Saturday.

One final note, the noise in the away end was unbelievable

Largely agree. Agree with the positives.

Nuhui looked no better than Madine when he came on & missed our easiest chance. Both held the ball up well against quality defenders. Not sure that Zayatte made much of an error. He was just beaten by international standard quality.

Although there is little point analysing the match, where we can learn (when we have time), is to watch the off the ball movement of players like Lampard & Milner & try to emulate it.

I'll take that Pozzo kid from the other night on loan please! Madine can just go home and not come back, Kirkland can keep flapping and fly away for all care.

Kirkland is ok as back for this season although it would have made more sense financially to have had Martinez for a full season rather than re-sign Kirkland. Still think Madine might do a useful job but he needs opportunities and he is still behind Nuhui.

Maybe we should have got Afobe on a season long loan. It was obvious last season that when he got back to full fitness, he would score goals for fun.

Afobe has started the season well with MK Dons, whether that would have been the case in the Championship we will never know!

Not sure Hope is 'playing well'. He's done little to impress so far

May might be playing well but Hope & Nuhui aren't.

Afobe had life in him and promise, not at all like Lita or Best. Just was given few chances by SG.
