Mourinho's revealing interview on Monday night kinda prepared us for the inevitable bad news that he was gonna be removed from his position as manager of Chelsea FC. He'd clearly 'lost the dressing room' and I think he effectively 'threw in the towel' on Monday night and invited Abramovich to 'put him out of his misery' and get the hell outa London asap and well away from the untenable situation that he was in. It looks like Juande Ramos is a strong favourite to take over the role in the interim, until season end.

I think they will give up on this season as regards the league and make an appointment during the summer when there will be more candidates available. I am surprised it took them this long, PL teams don't normally wait that long these days!!!

As for Mourinho, if I was him I would sit tight and wait until LVG gets fired from the MU job and then take that one and prove himself all over again. LVG to me is doing only an ok job at MU, but with the money he has spent they should be doing much better than they currently are. Let Giggs go to Swansea to learn the managers role and get the Special One in until either he or Gary Neville are ready to come back.

Yep! It's been depressing watching Man Utd's stumbling form and Van Gaal's dependency on young expensive strikers who have not done the business in crucial matches. United's recent elimination from the Champions League was an embarrassment to lose out to two sides that were not exactly earth shattering and indeed were not better teams than United IMO! It's unimpressive considering the amount of money that LVG has spent. However, many fans would say it's a project in progress and LVG should sign Zlatan or Vardy and be done with it - too few goals scored and that's the main prob with Man U. As for Jose ever being considered by the Man U hierarchy, I can't see it happening, mainly because of Mourinho's lack of diplomacy and any humility that he had left in him is gone.

True about Mourinho, but SAF wasn't exactly known for his humility either!! MU need someone to attract players to the club and while LVG has a good reputation as a manager, the turgid and rigid football they currently play will hardly inspire new players to want to come and play in that system!!!

Regarding Chelsea, I cannot see them making the top 4 now, just like MU failed a couple of years ago as well, and the consequence of that is not felt just in the pockets of the club. For me it will make it very difficult for them to recruit some of the top players like they will need to and its not beyond possibility that they could struggle like MU for a few seasons.

True but I still regard saf as a tad more reputable and respected far more over a long period of management - they are similar but their characters are not the same eg I don't believe saf would've got involved in the cameiro incident. You need to read saf's 1st autobiography to appreciate what he was all about and the steely determination and toughness that he acquired down the years.

They would have to win 21 out of 22 remaining games, I read, to be sure of Champions League - Not going to happen and so they will go for a cup run and saving face. Recruit in the summer, as said already.
