I know we got a fluky win which we wouldn't of done if Wenger played with any sort of width rather than trying to do
everything down the middle but I have to say that Pulis got 100% lucky today when he took off Sessegnon and put the
gash Craig Gardner on as every time the bloke gets the ball he gives it straight back which just adds pressure.

Gardner is a Championship player IMO. Arguably a decent pro who follows orders and has a decent shot on him but poor elsewhere - definitely the type of player we should be looking to move on.
I wasn't against Sess going off because I thought he had his worst game since coming back into the side, but I agree, would be better if Gardner wasn't the replacement.

Thought he had a decent game yesterday and actually prefer him to James McClean,
its no surprise to me that our possession stats have gone up with him and Rondon out the starting 11.

I think what may have happened regarding Gardner is that, as McManaman and McClean have begun to deliver the goods on the pitch, and with Sess producing MOM performances now, Gardner's looking quite an ordinary player by comparison to those three, simply not as good.

I think Gardner proved against Chelsea the other week that he's better when he plays sort of off the striker which he did at time for Sunderland. It gives him chance to get forward and take these long shots which he is good at. I don't really rate him at all either, but he's got no chance playing as a winger because he's got no pace or skill, but we know TP loves people with no creativity so that's why he's in all the time.

Ha ! You are right Drewks. Gardner wasn't the only under performer of course but I can count the amount of good games he has had on one hand. To be honest I thought McLean and Sess were both very poor and villa doubled up on Sess to keep him quiet. He has been brilliant of late but yesterday he was the old Sess who couldn't beat his man and frequently lost possession.
A couple of long range goals a season and a lot of running about isn't good enough for me I'm afraid from CG.
We are crying out for a bit of creativity.
