BBC reporting that Saido has had to withdraw from the England U21 squad due to a knee injury sustained in training.
So not only is he unavailable to face Portugal tonight but, he's out altogether.
To add insult to injury England have called up a Wolves player to replace him.
Tough luck Saido; after all your goals in the qualifiers have helped the U21's to get this far.

I'm not saying it wouldn't have happened if Saido had been playing but, England U21 have now lost their opening game to Portugal.

Big shame this, hopefully it's not serious and he'll have enough time to be fully fit for the start of the season.
This made me wonder who was the last West Brom academy product to play for England (full team)? My knowledge of our history isn't what it should be, has there been anyone since Bryan Robson's last cap (1991)?

Carlton Palmer got 18 England caps, the last in 1993. Not sure if there's been anyone since him.

Berahino should be fit again by late July
SAIDO Berahino is on target to be fit for the start of the season after scans revealed no major damage to his right knee.
The Albion striker was forced to abandon his England role at the European Under 21 championships after sustaining the injury during a training session last week.
Berahino has since undergone further examinations to assess the full extent of the injury.
And the good news is that Berahino should be ready for the opening game of Albion's 2015/16 Barclays Premier League campaign.
The Club’s Performance Director Dr Mark Gillett said: "Saido has got a ligamentous tear of his knee which does not require surgery but careful rehabilitation for up to four weeks.
"We are grateful to the England medical staff for putting Saido's welfare first."
