After the pin-stripes and anger that ensued
What's your favourite Albion kit?
It obviously depends on when you started to watch or go to games, so no right or wrong answers.
I remember seeing Albion (with the strange badge - were umbro our first shirt sponsors?) before my favorite.
The strip didn't really change but this said WBA (literally) for me
If you struggle to remember, as I certainly did, hit the wonderful link

I can go a step higher than Aston Villa

How on earth did they head the ball wearing that dinky little cap?
At least with shorts that long, they didn't get their knees dirty.
Some days I'm top dog, most days I'm just the lamp post.

Talking of traditional away kits, along with most I would love to see the green & yellow stripes resurrected. And I can't understand why the Club don't listen to the fans; I'm sure it would be a big seller.
Back in about 1960 (?) I went to watch a pre-season warmup between Albion 1st & 2nd teams. They mixed up the teams so that it was an even contest. (I don't remember any proper pre-season games in those days).
Anyway, Team 'A' played in navy/white stripes, and Team 'B' played in ALL-RED. That doesn't sound strange at all today, but it was quite groundbreaking 55 years ago. No other team in the League played in all one colour back then - not even Liverpool, who only changed to all-red in about 63-64, and Leeds pretended to be like Real Madrid a year later, as I recall.
Can Ska'd (or anyone else) confirm whether all-red was our away kit back then, or have I dreamt it?
Start every day off with a smile and get it over with

I went to Filbert Street (Leicester City for the benefit of the youngsters) a couple of times in the early sixties and as far as I can remember:-
Feb 1961 FA Cup 5th Round - I think that we played in all red and lost 1-2.
Sep 1964 Division1 - I think that we played in all white and lost 2-4 (Jeff Astle's debut)
On the other hand it could have been the other way around
That's over 50 years ago; no wonder my memory is going!!
