Preston North End are delighted to confirm Jordan Thompson will join the club from 1st July 2025 on a two-year deal, with the option of an additional year.
The central midfielder arrives at Deepdale following a five-year stint at Stoke City where he made 178 appearances.
Jordan, a 28-year-old Northern Ireland international, becomes the first signing of the summer for North End.
Jordan said: “I’m delighted. It’s been quite a quick turnaround and I’m just glad it’s all done now.
“It’s a massive club and it’s one that I want to be part of.
“I’m looking forward to getting in pre-season, meeting the rest of the boys and the staff properly and getting going.”
The left-footed midfielder began his career with Rangers and joined PNE’s Lancashire rivals Blackpool in 2018, going on to feature 67 times on the Fylde coast.
His performances earned a move to the Potters where he racked up more than 150 appearances in the Sky Bet Championship.
The former Manchester United Academy player also receives regular call-ups to his national team Northern Ireland, with 39 caps to his name.
Manager Paul Heckingbottom said: “I’m really pleased we’ve got our summer business started so early and delighted Jordan’s joined us.
“He’s a player we knew all about anyway from playing in the Championship and we’ve been watching him closely with a view to bringing him in.
“Jordan’s a top professional and a talented footballer who likes to get on the ball and he adds a bit of balance to the midfield too, being left-footed. I’m looking forward to working with him.”

Preston North End are delighted to announce Daniel Iversen will rejoin the club on a permanent basis.
The goalkeeper, who impressed during two previous loan spells at Deepdale, has put pen to paper on a four-year deal which will begin on 1st July 2025.
As a North End loanee between 2021 and 2022, Iversen became a fan favourite thanks to his performances in goal which also resulted in the Dane receiving the Sir Tom Finney Player of the Year and Players' Player of the Year awards.
Daniel said: “I love it here. It’s the most I’ve been happy. Preston is where I’ve played my best football.
“Preston feels like home for me. Everyone around the club are good people and the fans too. I just love it here so it’s a no brainer for me to come back.”
Daniel first joined PNE on loan from Leicester City for the second half of the 2020/21 season, and he was brought back for the following campaign, going on to feature in every single league match and ending the season as the standout performer.
Since his return to the Foxes, the Danish shot-stopper has played 12 times in the Premier League, as well as featuring on 19 occasions for Stoke City in the 2023/24 season.
His contract with Leicester City will expire at the end of June and he will officially become a Preston North End player on 1st July.
Manager Paul Heckingbottom said: “I’m delighted we’ve got this deal done. Daniel’s an experienced goalkeeper who knows what it means to be a PNE player and he has the capability to make crucial saves and earn his team valuable points.
“Everybody who worked with him during his previous two spells here can’t speak highly enough of him and I think both Daniel and Polly [Mike Pollitt] are looking forward to working with each other again.
“From the conversations we’ve had, it’s really clear that he’s very excited to be coming back and from our side we’re happy we’ve made that happen because he’s a great goalkeeper.”

Preston North End are delighted to confirm Robbie Brady has signed a new deal with the club.
The Republic of Ireland international has extended his stay at Deepdale by at least 12 months, with his contract also including the option of an additional year.
Robbie first joined North End in July 2022 and has gone on to make 100 appearances for the Lilywhites over the past three campaigns.
Robbie said: “I’m absolutely delighted. I’ve really enjoyed my time here so far and I’m looking forward to another season ahead.
“The manager’s been honest with me since the minute he came in and I think we've got on since. It's been brilliant for me to be able to go back and forward with the manager like that.
“I know he has trust in me and from chats I've had with him he gives me the confidence that I need to be able to perform. Like I said, I'm looking forward to another year of working with all involved.”
The 33-year-old arrived at Deepdale with a wealth of experience at the highest level, having played more than 150 times in the Premier League, and his cap tally for Republic of Ireland now stands at 70.
Robbie’s enjoyed some big moments during his time with PNE, notably his stunning free-kick against former side Burnley in the Emirates FA Cup fifth round which was voted as the club’s Goal of the Season.
Manager Paul Heckingbottom said: “Getting Robbie signed up for next season is great news for us.
“I think his quality’s there for all to see. He’s got a great delivery with his left foot, he’s a player who can do a number of different jobs for us as we saw last season, and he’s got real fight in his game.
“He’s someone who can really impact matches. He’s a big part of things behind the scenes, too, so we’re really pleased he’ll be here again next season.”

Preston North End are delighted to confirm Pol Valentín will join the club on 1st July 2025, subject to international clearance and a successful visa application.
The right-back has signed a three-year deal at Deepdale and becomes the third signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Jordan Thompson and Daniel Iversen.
Pol has spent the previous two seasons in the Championship with Sheffield Wednesday, accumulating 77 appearances in English football.
Pol said: “I’m feeling so happy to be here. Since they called me, they made me feel like ‘You’re going to feel at home. You’re going to feel like you’re in a family.’
“I’m very proud. I’ve spoken with different people that played here, for example Bambo [Diaby], and people who know the manager or how the club is. They told me about the club and said they’re the best club for me. I didn’t have any doubt to come.”
Growing up in a footballing family, Pol’s career began in his native Spain, representing Valencia and Sporting Gijon, among others.
In 2023, the now 28-year-old made the move to Yorkshire to join up with Sheffield Wednesday, where he became a popular figure among the fanbase.
Pol’s contract at Hillsborough is due to expire at the end of June, and he will officially become a PNE player on 1st July 2025 ahead of the new campaign.
Manager Paul Heckingbottom said: “I’m really happy we’ve got Pol joining us. He comes with good experience at this level and he’s someone I’ve been impressed with over the past two years in the Championship.
“He’s an athletic full-back who uses his pace really well to get on the front foot and be positive in the final third. He’s another good addition to our squad.”

He can be quite useful he can also be quite useless ..he's better on the front foot than the back foot that's for sure ..but the way Rohl played him in and out up and down and messed him.around it's really anyone's guess how he will fair !? His attitude and work ethic is a positive and the fans at Hillsborough likes him as you must know that's not an easy feat with our lot !

Agree with Imre on this. Has a good turn of pace and can get a decent cross but defensively he’s a bit dodgy at times. I thought we might keep him but we are clueless at the moment anyway.

Preston North End are delighted to confirm Kacper Pasiek has signed his first professional contract with the club.
The 19-year-old had a one-year option exercised at the end of his scholarship last summer and has now put pen to paper on a two-year deal at Deepdale.
Kacper joined North End at a very young age and has progressed right through the ranks, going on to play a key role in the U19s winning the Youth Alliance League and Cup in the 2023/24 season.
The left-sided defender earned senior experience during the 2024/25 campaign by featuring in a number of first team matchday squads, while also enjoying a loan spell with National League side Altrincham.
Congratulations on your deal, Kacper!

While you're player shopping you might be interested in our left back famweo who's stalled his contract offer to stay on and Charlton are currently chasing him !
A really good left back if you can get him out of the treatment room where he likes to make a living !
