Playoffs It Is

Somehow we've managed to sneak into the playoffs. Beat Accrington 1-0 at the Wham stadium which we never seem to win at, it's either a draw or a loss there and Carlisle managed to hold Salford to a 2-2 draw at Brunton Park.

So we've got to play Walsall in the playoffs, a team who I would have thought would have got automatic promotion minimum seeing as they were 12 pts clear at the top of the league at one stage through out the season. Their final game of the season was a 1-0 win away at Crewe.

We drew 2-2 at home to Walsall this season and lost 3-1 away. The last time we ever beat Walsall was August 2016 where we won 2-0 at home.

Our record against them is W31 D29 L36

Last thing we need is Notts C at Wembley again. Must admit though revenge would be sweet. At least we have a goalkeeper now.
I fancy us against Walsall so that's probably the kiss of death but Dev will be happy because Dobra may be fit again. Sparkes will definitely be available again according to Danny Webb
Interesting times.

Well we managed to get there without Dobbie. Improving the side sometimes has the opposite effect.

Levi Amantchi must be odds-on to score at least once against us.

I'm more worried about the players currently being released. Huddersfield have released Danny Ward, he is in our geriatric age bracket, nobody has ever worked out his best position and he is injured. Our contract is obviously in the post. And Blackpool released Jordan Rhodes who ended the season at Mansfield on loan. He's only 35.

If only we could convince Josh Koroma, who the Terriers have also let go, that he doesn't want to go back down south. I know he made a daft pass in their last game, but they must be imagining morphing into Birmingham City if they think they'll be better off without him. Matty Pearson in our defence would do too .....

Can't see Notts County beating Madame Sholay and Orinoco, so obviously as I'm always wrong, it'll turn out to be us versus County again in another dreadful final to avoid. Jatta Jatta Jatta.

And Blackpool released the ONLY gay in the EFL village. Steve Bruce desperate to prove he's not in the closet? You know what the Brighton fans sang to Leeds, Stevie, "You're too ugly to be gay......"

Id like to see us sign Sparkes and Pepple. That would bring down our average age down a year or 2.
Let Madden go on loan somewhere (anywhere) no matter which league we end up in. Strange signing that's just not worked out. There's a lot more out of contract and I suppose it depends which league we finish in that will determine fates.
There's a certain ex Blackburn loanee who I believe is out of contract and enjoyed his time with us. League 1 could tempt him if we can afford it.
