The hordes could have just sent their votes in anyway, but no, they want to shout abuse and get their fizzogs on the telly while they're at it. There's no Q&A session, there's no chance of interacting with the board (half of which won't be there anyway) and the result of the voting won't be announced at the meeting.
There is NO NEED for any of them to be there in person, it's just sheer bloody mindedness on their part.
Quite why anyone is celebrating the venue change and subsequent delay of the EGM, I have no idea.

I would imagine that they are celebrating because they see it as a small, if insignificant, victory.
Maybe they'll just take the opportunity to further signal their discontent with the - now outgoing - regime and reiterate exactly what they think of them before they go.
As I've said before, taking up your right as a shareholder - or a shareholder's representative - to attend the EGM doesn't make you "bloody minded" or whatever you want to call it: it's your right.
And yes, some of those attending will be vocal - why not? Why shouldn't they be? These are the people that have put their money were their mouths are, they've invested. Best of luck to them.
Criminality on the other hand should be dealt with, I've no truck with a mob mentality hell bent on breaking the law.

The EGM will open. Then close, but the votes will have been cast.
I think that the shareholders who wish to see the board removed will be extremely well organised, cast their votes by post and the whole thing will be a done deal before the EGM takes place.
All of the votes cast by post by the deadline will be counted and, should the support for the resolution gain an absolute majority, it won't matter what happens at the EGM.

It will matter, because the media will be there to highlight any semblance of 'wrong-doing'.
Best avoiding the whole thing entirely, leave the hounds an empty plate to fight for scraps for their front pages.

As stated on another thread, I'd much rather those who attend do not give the media - or anyone else - anymore ammunition to fire blindly at our support, but if people have bought the shares, and plenty of us have, I'm very happy for them to exercise their right of attendance should they so wish.
"Boo", "he's behind you" etc.
