like Stairs I avoided it as had friends round for a birthday gathering
to prepare for. Just seen the highlights or lowlights on sky and I'm so glad i did avoid as it was
an absolute shambles. I've seen horrible defending with albion plenty of times over the years but
this was a new level of a shocking horror show. At times we looked like a pub team standing around in the
box after a night on the lash waiting for them to stick it in the net. Im also wondering how we scored
3 with that team Were now absolutely striker less with asante injured. We need Maja to come to the party double quick time
but I didn't even hear his name mentioned during the commentary. Its gonna be a long hard slog this season.

I thought it was a poor game, two sides who will be bottom half without a fluffy of transfer activity.

Welcome 3 points though. I think every win will be much needed this season.

It really confuses me how we play such dreadful football to watch, yet we can't do the dirty stuff either. Usually if you can't play, you have to be tough to beat. We're poor and weak.

We really need to do something about the defence, but 3 at the back is not the answer. Just more square pegs in round holes. We need personnel. Lord help us if we have to rely on Kipre all year.

I know it's not good to be negative after a win, but it papers over the cracks. We didn't score a proper goal. We relied on blind luck to keep them out. It's the worst side we've had for years.

The problem with needing a player to own a position is that he either fails to deliver or gets injured almost as soon as he arrives at the club.

I see nothing but low to mid table this year and it’s depressing.

Even a takeover of the club will do nothing to save us from a, yet another, bad season. As any money will be only available in January.

So my most positive outlook is survival, new ownership and NEXT season we might be in with a chance to compete for the play-offs

Yup, I'm of the same view.
I can't see anything other than a real struggle this season. The one positive about that is possibly our value for any takeover will continue to fall and hopefully Lai will see that and get out whilst he can. But then we've still got to hope that any new owner will invest a bit..... or at least appear to care! Huh

Blimey, we’re two games in (plus a reserve match) and you’re writing off the season?

One game lost away to a team that finished above us last year, one game won. Defence does not look good but I’d be staggered if we’re not looking for a centre back. New striker with a decent scoring record is nearing fitness, and new winger has looked bright off the bench. Not much talk of more departures but clearly trying to bring people in.

We’re not looking like league winners - but let’s give it a few weeks before saying the season is over.
