wansea City have signed Burnley goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux for an undisclosed fee.

Vigouroux, 30, has agreed a two-year deal at the Swansea.com Stadium with the option of a further 12 months.

Swansea had been chasing a new keeper having seen Carl Rushworth return to Brighton following his successful loan spell in Wales during the 2023-24 season.

Vigouroux was a first-team regular at Swindon Town during Swansea head coach Luke Williams' time in charge of the Robins.

The London-born player joined the Clarets from Leyton Orient last summer, but did not feature for the Turf Moor club as they were relegated from the Premier League in 2023-24.

"I worked with Lawrence when he was a young keeper, he has always been so brave with the ball," Williams said.

"For such a young goalkeeper to be prepared to start the build-up was incredible. Now he is an experienced keeper and he has always been a great shot stopper, and he has continued to improve throughout his career, so I am excited to work with him again.

"This is the opportunity he has been craving, he has a chance to establish himself as a Championship number one and this is the place for him to do it."

Vigouroux started his career with Brentford and Tottenham Hotspur and also had spells with Hyde, Liverpool, Waterford and Chilean club Everton de Vina del Mar.

He won Orient's player of the year award three seasons running and was named in the 2022-23 League Two team of the season.

Vigouroux will compete with Andy Fisher for the number one spot at Swansea, who had previously been keen to re-sign Rushworth on a second loan deal.

Vigouroux becomes Swansea's third summer signing after the arrivals of Portuguese midfielder Gonçalo Franco from Moreirense and versatile forward Eom Ji-Sung from Gwangju FC.

In addition to a goalkeeper, the Welsh club are also keen to add at least one striker to their ranks during the current window, along with a central defender and at least one wide player.

Swansea City have signed Slovenia striker Zan Vipotnik on a four-year contract following the mutual termination of his contract with Bordeaux.

The French club recently accepted relegation to the third tier and renounced their professional status following significant financial issues.

Player contracts were subsequently terminated as part of a cost-saving measure at the club.

That has allowed Vipotnik, 22, to secure a switch to the Swans on a free transfer.

The 10-cap Slovenia international featured as a substitute during his side's 1-1 draw with Serbia at Euro 2024 in June.

He scored 10 goals in 37 Ligue 2 appearances for Bordeaux during his sole season in the south west of France.

Following his departure from Bordeaux - who he joined from Maribor in 2023 - Vipotnik wrote on social media: "Heartbroken to say goodbye under these circumstances.

"My time at Bordeaux has been nothing short of incredible, thanks to this amazing club and the passionate fans who welcomed me with open arms.

"It's devastating to see the club facing such challenges, but I believe in the spirit of Bordeaux and I know it will rise again.

"Until we meet again."

The signing is a major boost for Swansea, who are desperately thin on forward options following the departures of Jamal Lowe and Jerry Yates this summer - the latter joining Derby County on loan.

Academy product Liam Cullen and Ukrainian Mykola Kuharevich are the only other senior frontmen at the club - although the latter is attracting transfer interest from Hibernian.

Swansea remain in the market for at least one winger and a central defender, while injuries to certain members of the squad could also mean further additions are required before the summer transfer deadline.

Luke Williams' side begin their 2024-25 Championship campaign against Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium on Saturday, 10 August.

Vipotnik is set to travel to Wales next week to link up with his new team-mates ahead of that game.

Swansea City have signed Olympiakos’ England Under-20 centre-back Nelson Abbey on loan for the rest of the season.

Abbey, 20, left Reading to join Greek side Olympiakos for an undisclosed fee in January, when the Royals needed to raise funds because of their financial problems.

But the Reading-born player has now been allowed to join Swansea with Europa Conference League champions Olympiakos keen for him to play Championship football.

"I think his signing makes us a stronger squad," said Swansea head coach Luke Williams.

"He has key performance data that we really like in terms of being able to recover the ground behind him, because we are often very high up the pitch.

"He has shown really good one-v-one ability to defend and he shows a really good attitude towards having the ball, which is where some defenders feel uncomfortable."

Abbey made 31 senior appearances for Reading after coming through the club's academy, and wore the captain's armband in League One before leaving the Royals.

He was also linked with Luton Town - who at that stage were a Premier League club - during the January window.

Abbey made four appearances for Olympiakos in the second half of last season but was an unused substitute as they began the new Greek Super League season last weekend

“He is a very good age," Williams added.

"He is a very bright, intelligent guy and we like that because we are heavy on the coaching and the meetings we have.

“I think his club have owners who understand the EFL very well.

"He is a player who is highly regarded at both clubs. They feel like this is a really good opportunity for him. They wanted to know a lot about us and how we are trying to play.”

Swansea have been in desperate need of defensive reinforcements, with Ben Cabango and Harry Darling their only senior centre-back options after the summer exits of Nathan Wood and Bashir Humphreys.

Williams does have left-sided defender Kristian Pedersen as a central defensive option, after he returned to Wales following a loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday.

But it remains to be seen whether the Denmark international will still be at Swansea when the transfer window closes on 30 August.

Abbey is Swansea's fifth signing of the summer window after Lawrence Vigouroux, Eom Ji-Sung, Goncalo Franco and Zan Vipotnik.

They are also working on a deal for French winger Florian Bianchini.

Myles Peart-Harris is poised to join Swansea City on loan from Brentford.

The attacking midfielder has been monitored by the Swans throughout the summer and is now set to spend the remainder of the 2024-25 season with Luke Williams' side.

It comes after head coach Williams stated he wanted to bolster his attacking options prior to Friday's 23:00 BST transfer deadline.

"I’m not going to expect anything but I’m hopeful," said Williams.

"I think we could probably still do with one or two players to strengthen the squad.

"I certainly think in the wide areas, we're short. Probably in the top half of the pitch we're still a little bit short. [Attacking additions] would be welcome."

Peart-Harris, 21, featured five times under Thomas Frank last season and scored twice in 12 appearances for Portsmouth in the second half of the 2023-24 campaign.

Swansea have received enquiries from Championship clubs about forward Liam Cullen - but insist the Wales international will not be leaving the club this month.

The striker's contract with his boyhood Swans expires next summer.

Meanwhile, the Swans are not expected to sign an additional centre-back this month.

Earlier in the summer, they had been confident of striking a deal to sign central defender Ben Nelson on loan from Premier League Leicester City, although the move fell through.

The 20-year-old has since been linked with a host of other Championship clubs, with Oxford United among those interested. Swansea have since signed Nelson Abbey on loan from Olympiacos.

Josh Thomas is poised to join Bromley on loan for the rest of the season.

The striker has agreed a new contract with Williams' side until the summer of 2026 - with the option of an additional 12 months - and will join fellow Swan Cameron Congreve at League Two Bromley.

Liam Cullen has agreed a new three-and-a-half year Swansea City contract which will keep him at the Championship club until the summer of 2028.

The Wales striker, who has been Luke Williams’ first-choice centre-forward for much of this season, had been due to become a free agent next summer.

Swansea had considered handing Cullen a new long-term contract during the 2023-24 campaign, but opted instead to trigger a one-year extension in his previous deal.

In April, head coach Williams challenged Cullen to prove he was worth an extended contract during the 2024-25 campaign.

And Cullen has been quickly rewarded for a bright start to this campaign, in which he has scored three goals in 11 Swansea appearances and played his first competitive minutes for Wales.

"It’s fair to say we have tried to get this deal sorted in a short space of time, since we have come back to negotiating," said Williams.

“I think that is evident and I think everyone is happy with that, because it is so important to have Liam’s contract situation sorted out.

“He is a player who gives everything for the club every single day, and you can see that on the pitch."

In all, Pembrokeshire-born Cullen has scored 23 goals in 130 senior appearances since coming through the youth ranks at Swansea.

Cullen is one of a number of Swansea players whose contracts had been due to expire at the end of the season, with centre-backs Ben Cabango and Harry Darling among the others.

Cullen is the leading scorer in a Swansea side who have scored the fewest goals in the Championship this season.

“We have not been as potent as we would like to be, but we know having the likes of Liam Cullen will help us do that in the future," Williams added.

“He is tireless, he gets through so much work for the team, but we know he has quality as well."

Swansea City have agreed a deal to sign winger Zeidane Inoussa from Swedish club BK Hacken.

The Championship club have not disclosed the fee for the first signing of the Alan Sheehan era, but it is understood to be 'significant'.

"It's important that we carry this season's momentum into next, and getting our first signing done this early is great," said boss Sheehan.

The 22-year-old will sign a five-year contract which will take effect on 1 July.

"I'm looking forward to working with Zeidane," added the Swans' recently upgraded permanent head coach.

"We want to be an aggressive team with and without the ball, and we believe he has all the attributes to do that and to make us better."

Sheehan eyes signings as five Swansea players depart

A Sweden Under-21 international, Inoussa left his homeland to join Caen as a teenager and got his first taste of senior football with the French club.

He had loan spells with Real Murcia and Valencia's second-string side before returning to Sweden to play for Brommapojkarna in 2023.

Inoussa moved to Gothenburg-club Hacken last year and has since scored nine goals in 23 appearances and had been linked with a number of clubs including Celtic.

Swansea director of football, Richard Montague, said: "Zeidane gives us something different to what we've had this season. We hope that he's a player who will get fans off their seats.

"We're delighted to have completed this deal so early, and we believe it will help us to hit the ground running in August."

Inoussa will be joined in Wales this summer by fellow countryman Melker Widell, who agreed a move in the last transfer window.

Swansea are also lining up a move for Kilmarnock striker Bobby Wales.

Swansea City have signed defender Cameron Burgess from Ipswich Town.

The 29-year-old Australia international has agreed a three-year contract with Alan Sheehan's side.

Scotland-born centre-back Burgess was out of contract with the Tractor Boys this summer.

"We are delighted that Cameron will be joining us at Swansea City," said head coach Alan Sheehan.

"He is an experienced and consistent performer that has seen him rise up through the divisions in the last few years and become a full international.

"During our conversations Cameron really bought in to what we are trying to do at Swansea and I believe he will be a great addition for us on and off the pitch driving standards throughout the club, and we look forward to getting to work with him."

Burgess will become the club's fourth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Ricardo Santos, Zeidane Inoussa and Bobby Wales.

Sweden international Melker Widell also links up with Swansea this summer having joined from Danish side Aalborg in January.

He had a brief stint on loan at Salford City before moving to Accrington Stanley in 2020, signing for Ipswich a year later.

He helped the Tractor Boys secure successive promotions from League One into the Premier League.

Burgess - who recently helped Australia qualify for the 2026 World Cup - featured 22 times in all competitions for the Portman Road outfit last season.

Swansea City director of football Richard Montague added: "We are very pleased to have been able to add a player of Cameron's pedigree and experience to our squad ahead of the new season.

"To bring in a player who has recently played Premier League football and been part of a successful period at his previous club is very positive.

"There was considerable interest in Cameron from a number of clubs, and we are delighted he felt that Swansea City was the right choice for him."
