Main stand at the right of the stand is the Community Corner in honour of now deceased Chorley FC David Murgatroyd who was chairman of the club, his life was remembered for one tragic event, on 15/6/1996 a day now etched in many football fans minds England played the Auld enemy in the 1996, Gazza scored, it was roasting hot, personally was playing cricket at Caton and the cheers from the Station Hotel told you who was winning.
That night Mr Murgatroyd's daughter Janet was in Preston on a night out, she didn't make it home and was found in the Ribble the next day, the case was never solved.
