And another win

How many times when a team scores in the first 5 mins does it end up going wrong? Think there's something psychological gets in their minds as it happens time and time again. This time we didnt let it go but we easily could have done. First half we took control and bossed it but didn't show a lot for it.

Wealdstone upped their game second half and took control of the midfield after Kahn went off. He was excellent first half and covered every blade of grass, We sat back and let them play. We were lucky but after the 2nd went in it was all over. They looked a very useful side with some good young players. If they had had shooting boots on we could well have lost it. Our defence held but we need Oyeleke and Kahn in midfield, McCourt and Weston dont hack it for me.
Our back 3 looked comfortable but were put under a lot of unnecessary pressure.

Our start to the season looks an easy first 6 on paper, if we manage 18 points from them the rest will be playing catch up.

If we get 18 points from 6 I'll eat a big slice of very humble pie ...........

Man of the Match and in the Non-League Paper team of the week was Joe Rowley for King's Lynn alongside Saidou Khan and John Rooney.

Man of the Match and in the Football League Paper team of the week for Division One was Tendayi Darikwa for Wigan.

Wrexham only have until Tuesday for more big signings as they are Welsh FA. Parkinson says he wants at least two more quality players. Certainly Tozer was a good idea, they needed a defender and they got one with a very long throw. But he's 31 and they've paid big money, but I suppose if you are in films for which you are paid millions, "big" has a different meaning. Hey ho!

Watched some of Stockport and Southend. Loved Stockport's glaring pink shirts. Southend were pretty good and will go well, but it was quickly obvious that even though they've got Paddy Madden, the man you have to stop is still John Rooney. If you want to beat County hassle him every time he gets the ball.

Player to sign, CALLUM MINKLEY from Gainsborough Town. Came through Derby's Academy. Defender, got Man of the Match for Town when they got their first points this week. He was so impressive he was given a a place in the National League North Team of the Week in the Non-League Paper, which is pretty impressive as Gainsborough aren't even in the National League - they are near the bottom of the Northern Premier League Premier Division. I'd sign him on the strength of that alone!

Never do anything by halves. Just logged in to have a bet on a horse in 7.00 at Newton Abbot tonight called Cryogenics. Think it is a cert', in the paper at 10/1 hasn't done anything for a while and then only in the very lowest class, but it just changed trainer to a very successful yard currently. It is the only horse the trainer has sent to the meeting and it is the jockey's only ride (and he's pretty good).

Turns out I wasn't the only one to notice. There's a huge gamble going on, he was down to 3/1. Not worth the risk. Three more wins, we can't, can we?

Bromley, Dover then Barnet. I wouldnt bet against it. If we win on Saturday - its probably the hardest of the 3, am sure its doable.

Don't jinx it Dancing! Knowing our luck we beat Bromley on Saturday and then end up struggling to Dover and Barnet.

This team reminds me very much of the 2013-14/2014-15 teams.

Well the horse I avoided backing ran possibly the worst race I've ever seen from a fancied horse. It looked fit as a flea. Tape went up jockey positioned the horse with intent just behind the leaders, as they headed for the first hurdle you could see the horse thinking, "xxxx this," and almost hitting reverse. It trailed round anonymously towards the rear, didn't try a stroke. If I'd backed it I'd have smashed the telly.

Bromley? With the 6'7" Sowumni at centre back I think we've got to run him. Payne out and Rowe in to do some shooting. Bromley have conceded more goals than I expected so far. Hope Saturday isn't the day they get it right. Cheek, Dennis and Whitely all have goals in them so this is the biggest test our defence has had. Arthurs is a real danger out wide. If we do win we will be building up a real head of steam. Stockport couldn't beat Grimsby so we are getting a good lead over all the other money men. BUT remember last season, Bromley had everyone's number in tight games.

In our current position my first question would be, how bad is Angelo Balanta's hamstring. They thought it might be bad. If it is, this is a lot to ask of McCallum, good a player that he is. Whilst Wrexham, Notts County and Stockport are watching each other, maybe this is an opportunity for Dagenham, Chesterfield and Boreham Wood. You don't win the League coming out of the blocks, but you can lose it.
