WBA vs Sheff Utd - Match Thread - Ska'dForLife-WBA - 26-11-2020 As tempting as it is, after last Saturday, to just type "f**k the Premier League" a few hundred times and leave it there, Albion have to pick themselves up and go again this Saturday night, and as always, they'll be dragging the rest of us along for the ride. The weekend's visitors are Sheffield United, and it couldn't be a bigger match, as the two winless sides currently propping up the table go head to head at the Hawthorns in a desperate attempt to kickstart their possibly-already-doomed seasons. Leaving aside the misery of VAR, the only real positive to be taken from Old Trafford was that we weren't outclassed by a United side with a few big guns in the line-up. Sadly, the old problems remained: we didn't pose much threat from open play, set-pieces weren't a whole lot better, we fluffed our half-chances, and relied on Johnstone having a good day to get us out of jail when the defence was carved open. The only consolation is that the Blades haven't looked much better in that regard, with two fewer goals over the course of the season and only one draw breaking the endless succession of Ls beside their name. I wish I could say with certainty that we're not going to give them a second D, or even the coveted first W, but Albion have made such hard going of six-pointers recently that all bets are off. Famous fans: A creditable list includes the passionate Sean Bean, Jessica Ennis-Hill, Paul Heaton of the Housemartins and the Beautiful South, England Test captain Joe Root, and boyhood supporter Michael Palin (though as an adult he's often professed a liking for Wednesday as well, as part of a general sense of hometown pride). RE: WBA vs Sheff Utd - Match Thread - Ska'dForLife-WBA - 26-11-2020 Forgot to add: December live TV schedule also announced today. Albion on Sky three times, BT once and Amazon Prime twice. RE: WBA vs Sheff Utd - Match Thread - Blue Baggie - 27-11-2020 This is simply a must win game for both teams. If Robinson starts we take the initiative and win 3 - 1 If we start with him on the bench we give SU a boost and we lose. It makes no sense but so what? COYB RE: WBA vs Sheff Utd - Match Thread - BaggieSteve - 27-11-2020 I see that Mike Dean is refereeing. Now that's something for us all to look forward to ![]() RE: WBA vs Sheff Utd - Match Thread - Onetruebaggie - 27-11-2020 I'll keep it simple, anything but a win and Slaven goes, forget last seasons Sheff Utd, bottom of the league, were at home, no excuses, cant beat this lot f*** off now, rhetoric over, I'm bored of the team spirit/camaraderie/preparation/all fired up!! Bored.com!! Don't know who the answer is but if we go 10+ games without a win, we may as well shut up now and go to the EFL!! Bored.com!! All true OTB, however I think we all knew in our hearts this would be a hard season, even I another true baggie placed us 17th in the table. Or as another thought - maybe the team isn't playing for the Manager seeing he makes so many stupid player choices ![]() RE: WBA vs Sheff Utd - Match Thread - drewks - 28-11-2020 (28-11-2020, 11:31)Baggiebob(BBB) Wrote:(27-11-2020, 17:54)Onetruebaggie Wrote: I'll keep it simple, anything but a win and Slaven goes, forget last seasons Sheff Utd, bottom of the league, were at home, no excuses, cant beat this lot f*** off now, rhetoric over, I'm bored of the team spirit/camaraderie/preparation/all fired up!!
