Noisy Neighbours
Nearest neighbours to the Chairboys are all in the Championship too this season. Reading, Watford and Luton.
Geographically they are separated from Watford by The Chalfonts - and as anyone who has suffered from The Chalfonts can tell you, they are a right pain in the arse.

Watford were one of the first to find that out as they have slowly adapted to life in the Championship. Gareth Ainsworth's side are capable of being a right pain in the Chalfonts to anyone who takes them lightly. The battering that a fast starting Blackburn gave them early doors has seen them rarely lose since by more than the odd goal and pick up two useful wins and two draws.

He's neither of the above but Ben Hamer is currently away from the squad due to a family member also having to isolate. No date yet set for his return but likely not before the weekend.
Titchy Pritchy still out, may be back training soon. otherwise the usual long-term chaps are still doing coaching duties.

Koroma is wrapped in cotton wool and tin foil. Will be given a good basting before deciding whether to put him in the frame.

Back in the frame
With Hamer out Ryan Schofield was on the bench on Saturday. It's unlikely Careless will drop Pereira after one outing, Town weren't the only side to screw up trying to play out from the back on Saturday or Sunday, but hell get your heads up and have a look before just doing it blindly, twice fer crying out loud. If in doubt get it out. Out of harms way, out of the ground if you have to, or at least up their end, turn 'em round and press them in their half.

Last time out
Wycombe had a creditable 0-0 draw against Brentford, continuing a recent run of form against top half sides where they have at least found a way of plugging their leaky defence if not setting the world on fire with the number of goals they are scoring.

Town scored 3 very good goals at Smoke but still managed to claw defeat from the jaws of victory, er, a draw, er, we hung in for the last 30 mins and prevented another hammering. Whistle

Town have slumped to 16th as a result of only one win in the last six games. We can just about get back into the top half with a win and a few results going our way.

All of Wycombe's 8 points have come in their last 6 games. Unexpected results against Watford (1:1), Brentford on Saturday and wins against Brum and fellow cellar dwellers, Wendies, means their current form is better than ours.

Cummings and Going's (to Barnard Castle for an eye test and a medical)
No great surprise that Wycombe didn't push the boat out, and other than Wendies starting on -12, since reduced to -6, they will be more surprised than anyone to see themselves above Direby. Had they not lost to Forest they could be level with them too.
Ainsworth did see fit to bring in the er, youthful David Stockdale in goal. A promising young lad who started his career at York in 2005 and has since gone on to have more Clubs than two decks of cards.

Not so much a musician as a music promoter, Ron Watts (no relation to Charlie that I've found yet), who passed away in 2016 rubbed more than just shoulders with a legend or two of the world music scene, let alone in the upstairs room of pubs down Wycombe high street.

Who he then? This is a very good read on www.chairboys.co.uk if you've time, and have finished Snoots's "Sssssmoking" thread from the weekend yet. Mr. Watts was a very early promoter of Punk Rock bands including those nice, shy, quiet lads known as The Sex Pistols.

We've only met 10 times. The last time we met we were both in League 1. Town have won 6, Wycombe have won 2.

Town won the home leg 3-0, with the prolific Alan, Alan Lee scoring twice, and then Jordan Rhodes did this at their's.

Oh how Wendies would love him to score that many again - in a season.

A certain Gareth Ainsworth was in the Wycombe team back then. Wonder what happened to him?

Town were promoted and Wycombe relegated at the end of that season. I'm not getting me hopes up as far as Town are concerned and apart from playing us, the more points Wycombe get off otherwise mid-low table sides, the better for us.
