Oggy's Top 5 games (May 2020)
- Town v Sheffield Utd play-off final 2012 @ Wembley
- Town v Bournemouth play-off semi 2011 @ home
- Town v Barnsley last game of the season / two YORKSHIRE clubs survival day 2013 @ home
- Town v Birmingham last day of the season relegation day 2001 @ home
- Reading v Town promotion to the premier league play-off final 2017 @ Wembley
If pushed, I think I would have swapped Sheffield and Brum for the 2-1 victory over Man Utd at home in 2017 and the premiership survival 1-1 game against Chelsea at the Bridge at the end of the season.

How anybody can choose that one is beyond me, it was one of the worst days of my life. 
Here's mine:-
- 1970/71: Town 2-1 Arsenal
- 1978/79: York City 1-3 Town
- 1982/83: Leeds Utd 0-1 Town (League Cup)
- 1999/00: Town 7-1 Crystal Palace
- 2017/18: Town 1-0 Watford
The win over Arsenal was a great match. They were top of the league and we were, well, little Huddersfield. The MOTD cameras were there, a rarity in itself, and we took the lead through Les Chapman with a goal that would go on to win Goal of the Month. We even got a penalty against them, something you would never see today. Remember being pissed off afterwards though realising our win had put Leeds top of the league.
The win at York came at the end of the season and was towards the back end of May as the season dragged on with rearranged games following a terribly snowy winter. It was Mick Buxton's first season and after years of falling down the leagues, the corner had finally been turned. It was a surperb performance in the spring sunshine and we left knowing that the next season was going to be a good one. And it was as we tonked in over a hundred goals and won the title.
The win at Leeds in the League Cup came after years of piss taking from Leeds fans, both at school and then during my early pisshead years.
Went on the pisshead's bus as well to this one, the Millbridge bus, though this time we just went to the game. Leeds were "champions of Europe" 
and we were just on our way back, we would win promotion back to division 2 at the end of the season, but they were well past their best days. Old turncoat Frank Worthington, the hero of my early Town days was in the Bellend XI. But it was Buxton's boys who came out tops with a beautiful headed goal from David Cowling. After the game, we had to play the usual game of trying to avoid being hit by bricks as the police penned us in for half an hour of easy target practice for the dirty scum bastards outside. Happy days!Talking of dirty Leeds, the best thing to come out of that shit hole was Clyde Wijnhard and he scored a hat trick in that win over Palace. I was still annoyed with the club for sacking Jacko, much as I am now for the Cowley sackings. But this performance turned my emotions around, much like winning at Brentford tomorrow will and make Carlos the best thing to come out of Bellend land.
The win against Watford was the one when Tom Ince scored in injury time. This was a vital three points in our survival bid, given the upcoming games were Everton, Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal. It was another great performance where we definitely deserved all three points and to get them right at the death, followed by the Town wave to the fans at the end made me think that we could actually do this. And of course, we did. And we shall again. Come on Town.

In order of appearance, not importance
Town v West Ham in the FA Cup. We didn't just beat West Ham, we (well big Frank and a little help from his mates) beat England - but what pissed me off was I wasn't there. Me mam decided to drag me off to L666s to buy me a new coat. Me dad took me two brothers, a Shayman til he dies and another that could give a toss about football at the time. Then he pretended to support Man U because they won something.
L666s v Town in the League Cup - even though I was stood in their end or side, stuffed me scarf down me pants and just tutted loudly when we scored. Think me and me mates were sussed but nowt nasty happened. We weren't the only ones that got pissed off trying to get in the tiny away bit they gave us with a couple of turnstiles. Not sure how many times I've been to the Skip (not many) since but the shit that went on afterwards outside didn't encourage us to book tickets too often.
Hereford v Town - the own goal from the half-way line by the Right Reverend Peter Hart, recently of the Parish of Walsall, who still cringes every time he's reminded of it, was a peach. I can't remember any of Town's goals in that game to be honest. Just Buxton telling us all to go home to celebrate at Leeds road.
Town 2-1 Scunny - goals 99 and 100, or was it 100 and 101? Who cares? We celebrated on a nervous night on The Terrace. We were finally winning something after the long slide down to almost oblivion.
Wemberlee, Wemberlee v Reading.
Yes I'd been fortunate enough to see us there (in t'old Wemberlee) before. We lost in the AutoGlass Final v Swansea. I'd just moved to Canada when Warnock took us there again and won promotion. I was dying to sneak back for the play-off final back in 95 but if my mum had heard I'd been back for the weekend and not gone back up north to see her - life would not have been worth living. 3 years ago - new job, Town getting into the Prima Donna League. You couldn't wipe the smile off my face for months.
All gone to hell in a hand-cart since mind but live for the victories, sod the defeats.

I went with my dad to that West Haaam match. We battered 'em. I was gonna put that one but went for the Arsenal game instead. We were stood down by the Cowshed and some Hammers skinnyheads tried to 'ave a go. Soon got seen off. Cockney pricks!

I didn't put any of the play offs down on my list because I don't enjoy them. I didn't sign up for excitement when I started watching Huddersfield Town.

Palace 0 v 3 Town
The sun was shining and the beers were flowing, Town were about to make a Premier League debut and i don't think anyone thought anything about the result we wre just happy to be in the big time league. Fast forward to 5pm and a magnificant win for the Terriers, more beers on the train home, more beers in Wakey and just back in Flockton club in time to see Town on Match of the day. As footall days go it couldnt have been any better.

Brentford 1 v Town 1
Town win 4-3 on Penalties
The atmosphere in the away end will live with me until the day i die. The game was end to end from what i remember with both sides having chances to win it it in extra time but it was Bully that won it for us and sent us back to Wembley for the second season running.
May 2018
Chelsea 1 v Town 1
The point that kept us in the Premier League.
Having just pulled off the unthinkable by drawing 0-0 at Man City we quickly followed that up with a trip to Chelsea. Again we all hoped we could do it but i doubt anyone thought we would. Those minutes after Chelsea had equalized felt like hours not 30minutes. Fantastic support by the Town fans that night and amazing scenes in the away end. Proud to be a Terrier that night and drunk for about the following 3 days

Reading 0 v 0 Town
The play off final.
The game itself for the neutral was probably very forgetabble but as a fan present in the ground it was gripping knowing that one mistake could cost you.
The pre match atmosphere in the Green Man and the support in the game from the Town fans was first class. I know i'm biased but i really do believe the support we gave them that day gave the players the belief that they would win no matter how it was settled.
Getting out the car park after was bit of bitch though, by the time we got home all the local pubs were shut.

Stockport County 0 v 6 Town
This fixture was always special to me as i work for a company based in the Stockport area.
Another cracking day. Edgeley was a sea of Town fans drinking in the pubs and on the streets, it was a real party atmosphere and the Team didnt let us down either.
