Milan Butterfield - spireitematt - 19-08-2020

Signed Milan Butterfield from Kidderminster Harriers. He's a midfielder, 22 years of age and is 6ft 4' apparently. Sounds like he could make a great target man at set-pieces and could cause defenders a problem.

And now Cropper is back.

You can't be against signing a player called Milan Butterfield. Pembo obviously knows him well from Kiddy.

Hope he does better than our last Bermuda international.

You would think a combination of Denton, Butterfield and Will Evans might cause some concern at corners.

Squad shaping up nicely and it would seem we have a team of players in their natural positions. When was the last time we had that?

Under Cook?

I don't know why but I'm looking forward to the season starting for the first time in a long time.

Hollis, Smith, Sharman and Rawson announced today. Think thats our squad for the coming season done. Cant see any more coming in. Glad about Shar, man and Rawson, what I saw of them last season they looked useful.

Have we signed Jalal ...... otherwise our oldest other keeper is 11?

I never know which is best, new signings or stability. Halifax had hardly a player on their books a couple of weeks before the season last time. I thought they'd be bottom for sure, but their last-minute signings gelled immediately and they were soon clear at the top of the table. But when Tim Flowers saved Solihull from relegation he largely stuck by the same team and almost got them into the EFL the following season. Harrogate have built around a nucleus of players and they've made it all the way to the EFL..........

I do think we missed a trick though with Kosylo released by Fylde, where he'd failed completely. Altrincham have grabbed him. He scored and created loads of goals for Halifax a couple of seasons ago. EFL clubs from the Championship down were watching him, but I think the smaller clubs didn't move, because they thought they'd lose out to bigger names, and in the end no one moved, and so he ended up at Fylde and I think he's been a bit disappointed. He's class and he'd have been FREE!

I hope I'm proved wrong, but I think we have one squad place taken up a by a real waste of time in McKay. If he can't make the team we may as well loan him straight out and get someone in who can genuinely challenge for a place.

Do you honestly think anyone would take him. Maybe Waterford if there's a brown paper bag involved.

RE: Milan Butterfield - Devongone - 24-08-2020

If someone would just pay half his wage ........

If we flew him there and his dad organised the flight, especially if it was over a decent stretch of water ........

That's sick. I apologise. I'm starting re-education now.

Signed a new keeper. Kyle Letheren. 32 years old and has signed on a free after playing for Salford last season. His dad kept goal for Chesterfield in the 70s.

RE: Milan Butterfield - Devongone - 29-08-2020

Oh Jesus.

His dad wasn't as good as me. I hope he is econd choice, but I worry the other guy is a bit small these days at under six foot.
