Dundee Utd v Hibs, Tues 11 August, KO 6.00pm - 0762 - 09-08-2020

This will be a good away fixture for Hibs v a United side that has been buoyed by a good result v Motherwell. Hibs are top of the Premiership and now have an early target to try and stay there for as long as poss. I thought United's last home match/draw v ten man Saint Johnstone provided some optimism that we will beat them at Tannadice as that weakened Saints' team still outplayed the Tangerines in the second half and could well have beaten them.

Don't tune in at 7:45. It'll be nearly over by then. Whistle

Yeah, 6 o clock kickoff.

Duly altered! I'm forgetting we are playing footie in unprecedented times where a lotta KO times are not what they used to be.

Why are the SPL playing now anyway? Wouldn't they have been better waiting til October when some fans can be in? They're going to be out of sync with the other divisions.

I wonder, could it be Sky Sports calling the tune again? Whistle

Yep! There is a financial incentive to starting the Scot Prem early and giving BT Sport and SSN a live footie platform. Also the fixture list is so tight that there are few slots to fit in cancelled matches. Note the Scottish Championship doesn't start until October but the matches are less attractive.

FT 0-1 and what a really good result for the "cabbage n ribs" - 3 pts "in the bag" and a great "strike" by Christian Doidge ensures that Hibs are top of the Scot Prem after 3 x victories, the first time since Turnbull's Tornadoes did it in 1974!!! Thumb up JR's future instruction is an easy one - LETS TRY TO STAY AT THE TOP OF THE LEAGUE FOR AS LONG AS POSS!

GGTTH

Wasn't a great watch in all honesty but another very good away win and a fine finish from Doidge. As you say, first time since Turnbull's great 70s team.

I really like young Doig, he had a good close season and is in the side on merit.

It wasn't a great match, no. I was just nodding off when Hibs scored and woke me up. Big Grin

Good win though. When was the last time you won the first 4 matches?

He reminds me of Steven Whittaker during John Collins' period of management.

Not sure re that question? It may have occurred during one of the Scot league footie seasons from 1946-52 when the Famous Five were prominent and Hibs were crowned league champs on three occasions. Note their longest undefeated run was 17 matches during season 1947-48 but that was not a start of season undefeated stat.
