Hibernian v Kilmarnock - 3:00 1/08/2020 - hibeejim21 - 01-08-2020

Its back !!!

Albeit at an empty easter road. I can't say I'm hugely excited about watching a game with no fans and the prospect of hoping that I can get a stream to work.

Jack Ross has to start producing the goods for us this season, it's very much his team now and they should know what's required.

My team would be :

Marciano

Mcginn
Ryan P
McGregor
Doig

Boyle
Gogic
Allan
Wright
Newell

Nisbet

Reckon he will go for the experience of Stevenson although I expect that will change in a couple games when we find out he's not at the right level anymore, Doidge out before the season has even begun leaving us short upfront, again probably reverting us back to that one up top that doesn't work. Playing a very tough Killie team today who will probably settle for a draw.

Hes gone for the young lad Doig over Stevenson thankfully.

A solid start, 3 points against killie can't be sniffed at.

Good goals from Boyle,we are so reliant on him. Some great play 1st half though and hard battling qualities throughout all good --- but very slack in possession 2nd half and kilmarnock were the better side after the interval. Im a big fan of Scott Allan but he was so frustrating to watch yesterday. On the other hand I'm starting to come round to newell and gogic and young doig did very well.

Some goal by burke for killie as well, credit where its due.

Much of it had the feel of a pre season friendly, I really don't like games without fans. Guess we will have to get used to it for a while.

Definitely a welcome 3 pts and IMO Hibs played well for half of the game. However, they were exposed on both flanks far too often for my liking and I fear we may face a similar defensive season as last although thankfully the guys in the centre and defensive mid "battled" well to ensure we attained a victory. I liked Gogic putting in a "good shift" from back to front. I must also mention Stevo for a bit of praise on a terrific defensive block to stop a certain equalising goal in the second half. But on the "down side" Doig being "ripped" by an experienced winger called Chris Burke followed by Stevo replacing him and similarly not dealing with the threat although "sticking to the task". Time to tempt somebody like Stephen O'Donnell to play at ER? Lastly, one comment re the ref, Beaton - why on earth stop the game for a Power foul on Horgan(?) when Hibs have swiftly attacked the Killie goal in a 4 on 1 situation?????? The score was 2-1 at the time and advantage to Hibs surely - an idiot who occasionally does this to Hibs when he is the match official!!!!!!! Thumb down

I wouldn't be against us taking docherty back, or getting a player of that ilk in. Felt like that's what was missing a bit yesterday.
