No.3 could well be true; look what happened to Cardiff City until their fans rebelled.

Frankly I hope No.1 has truth about it. He's never there and consistently refuses to put his hands in his pockets to improve the squad. Angry

I do wonder whether the current tension between UK and China mean people like Lai will be instructed not to hand over money in this direction (not that he ever has, much).

RE: Chinese whispers - talkSAFT - 24-07-2020

I'm sure I read that there was an embargo on Chinese citizens investing money overseas, and that's why Lai has had to keep his money in his pocket.
If so, what happens next?
He's not going to make much profit over the next few years (or is he? might he take big Dividends next Season out of our Sky Money?)
Might he cut his losses and sell for £100m now? Are there any prospective Buyers at this Economic Depression?
etc etc

Anyone got any views?

I'm not 100% convinced Lai is the owner. He maybe just a front for someone else
He certainly has money invested globally and their is no reason he can't put money into the club. Chinese are.after more then a football club. It's a lever to lead into bigger and better things. Just like Fosun with the Dingles.

RE: Chinese whispers - Dingle-Dingle - 24-07-2020

Fosun are a Hong Kong company. Wonder if the new government (China) there will curtail their spending.

DD Huh Huh

So is Lai ? He has a company based in Hawaii that is profitable. Fosun have companies around the globe and put money into the Dingles - Lai choses not to invest a penny. But he did say when he purchased the club, it should be self funding.. We were hoping he would splash the cash, but that was a nonstarter. Like I said it's not an investment in our club. It's an end to a means where China has an influence in our national game.
