RE: The Future Of Football - Devongone - 08-10-2020

If Rochdale were attached in some way to Manchester City and could take say eleven of their players on season-long loans, and Oldham were attached to Man Utd, Tranmere to Everton, Bolton to Liverpool, Orient to Chelsea, Northampton to Leicester, Walsall to Villa ........... then young players could come across full grown men playing competitively in games and if they then didn't make it to the top, playing at a lower level wouldn't come as a shock. The football below Championship level would be better to watch, you could regionalise it and the links formed would be a way for the excess wealth of the Premiership to funnel down the pyramid. The extra money around lower leagues would improve the players they themselves were producing and top clubs would inevitably take greater interest in locally produced talent rather than that Slovenian international who was once on Ajax's books.
