So, about £140 mil spent, ut the defence has not received much work, and could be the main reason I feel that Utd will struggle again. LVG certainly has his work cut out. Rolleyes

Radamel Falcao's year long loan will cost Utd a fee of £6m in the deal from Monaco.

Falcao's move, meanwhile, includes an option for United to buy him for £43.5m at the end of the loan spell.

The player will earn approximately £265,000-a-week, while it is not thought Monaco are paying part of his wages.

The striker told his new club's website: "Manchester United is the biggest club in the world and is clearly determined to get back to the top.

"I am looking forward to working with Louis van Gaal and contributing to the team's success at this very exciting period in the club's history."

We can now add Tom Cleverly to the out list. He's away on loan to Aston Villa. That won't do their chances any harm either. A good loan signing

And Kagawa 6.3m back to Dortmund

Utd have also signed a 17 year old Goalkeeper from Vojvodina or one of the old Yugoslav states and I think also a sixteen year old left back from Ajax

Falcao's loan fee fluctuates between six and twenty three million to depending on what paper you read

Think if you add wages etc I'll be 18/20 mil total for one year. Pretty staggering. But they'll get him for another 43mil if they want next year. May sell rvp as tbh lvg ain't that keen.

Forgot about kagawa. Yes I thought that a measely amount for a very good player. May well be suited more in Germany or Spain, but think he was worth a lot more. Sounds like the manager wanted him out the door and club needed to recoup some cash.

an interesting article about the  CIES Football Observatory from the bbc that reckons Utd were overcharged by the amount of £42m on 3 players. Although not an exact science, they do have an excellent record in this department.
