3 and a half In - Dancingwilldoit - 26-06-2019 Gerrard, Yarny And Mckay with Weir signed today RE: 3 and a half In - Devongone - 26-06-2019 That's me gone. Gerrard is a step too far. A step further than even the execrable McKay and his soon to be jailbird dad and that dolt Weir. Back THEM for relegation. Meanwhile Dagenham used their new money to sign Mitch Brundle from Dover, who just happens to be better than our three and a half put together. THE END RE: 3 and a half In - spireitematt - 26-06-2019 Yarny I can understand but don't understand why we've signed McKay and Gerrard. RE: 3 and a half In - Dancingwilldoit - 27-06-2019 These signings would have happened the day after I finally succumbed and renewed my ST's !!! Impressed of Chesterfield - not. I didn't expect us to win promotion this year and so far none of the signings made have changed my opinion. Another mid table finish looms. Gerrard has played for Shez twice so he must see something nobody else does other than a possible racist thug. Yarney didn't exactly shine whilst on loan but was just ok, McKay is a really strange one. There are comments on Bobs that his dad must be paying his wages (Pesky dads eh Dev) or he's been brought in to bring the average age of the squad down. Its also suggested he is a signing for the new development squad but if so why announce it as a first team signing? Weir must surely just have been signed as a bit part player or maybe to play with the development squad and help bring them on? Oh well, onwards and upwards. Finish work for good tomorrow. Health issues have got worse the last 18 months so its time to wind down. Will finally be spending more time with my Delphiniums Dev, hopefully not pushing them up. Not due to watching the past 2 seasons is it? Hope you're well Dancing. RE: 3 and a half In - Devongone - 28-06-2019 The signings all show Sheridan can't be arsed to look beyond the end of the bar. Gerrard is a thug and a drunk at least and never was much of a player. McKay obviously came to us with a ticket from his dad ……. take him and we get a proper player flown in by R100, Yarney we already knew and he was straight on the blower after his release, even Mandeville has a reputation as a drinker so he probably met Shez in a pub Maybe only Buchanan was a proper signing. Is your son taking over the firm Dancing? Best wishes with the Pacific Giants. RE: 3 and a half In - Dancingwilldoit - 28-06-2019 Yes Dev, Eldest taking over at the top and youngest finally taking more of an interest than he has been to date! More interested in his band and music, but then I was at his age. Will be spending nights with a torch in the garden trying to stop the invasion of slugs destroying everything in sight, been worse this year than I have ever known. Don't know about snails pace they can destroy a full Delphinium in minutes. The local hoteliers will be rubbing their hands in glee this season, it will make up the losses they have suffered since the departure of Cooke and his entourage. Matt, will answer that when I know myself. Had green light laser surgery on my prostate earlier this year but it doesnt seem to have worked so its looking like its got to go. Whatever they did has caused a few other issues as well so will just see how we go. Message to anybody over 50 reading this, don't wait until its too late, get yourself checked out ask your GP to do a PSA blood test. Its not conclusive but at least its an indicator. RE: 3 and a half In - Devongone - 28-06-2019 Devon snails and slugs seem to destroy Delphiniums the moment you turn your back. When we were in Cheltenham we were quite successful ....... we briefly made ourselves members of the Delphinium Society, but it didn't seem worthwhile once we were struggling with them here. Lupins also go in minutes ...... and they used to grow alongside railway lines ffs. Hope they come up with a fully successful treatment asap for your prostate. We spend much of our time bemoaning Chesterfield not giving young players their head ....... well you've at least been true to your beliefs with your firm. Sometimes people of a certain age should take a step back anyway. With footballers the age comes earlier that's all. I did have a routine Prostate Check a few years ago but to be honest I could do without any further medicalisation. I've a vastly irregular heartbeat and high blood pressure, I'm arthritic and get gout. I take an armful of pills every morning and try to disregard the fact that I don't feel that great and lack energy. I should be in a great position for advice as my niece and her husband are BOTH consultant heart specialists ........... Despite everything I'm still convinced I'd be a better keeper than Jalal. By the way if your son's friend, the young footballer, is fit enough to do it, he should play again at some level. Bitterness can consume you and there are few things worse than letting a talent you loved go to waste out of anger or disappointment. You just end up hurting yourself ....... when in fact you were a victim. He's just proving to the world he didn't have it in him. |
