A New Manager - Arcane Astral Aeons - 23-05-2019

this post is going to be interesting...so here goes
no foreign manager please
dont care if they have done well in germany, spain or italy
we need a manager that understands OUR league not a foreign league

interesting to see who we get
BUT please no bloody foreigners

RE: A New Manager - St Charles Owl - 24-05-2019

5 out of the last 9 teams to get promoted, including the last 3 champions were managed by a foreign coach, are you sure you want to rule that option out??

RE: A New Manager - 4evaabaggie - 24-05-2019

I don't, how well did Irvine, pulis, Padres, BD etc etc do ..... I want a manager that knows football, knows how to manage, knows how to spot and sign talent, knows how to get the best out of the team/squa, that knows how to win and how to entertain, after all, it's a spectator sport.

RE: A New Manager - BaggieSteve - 24-05-2019

I personally couldn't care less where managers are from as long as they bring a fresh approach, are prepared to develop and use young players and don't hire their tired old mates who are desperate for a final pay day. I get the argument about foreign managers not knowing the lower English leagues, particularly the one we happen to find ourselves in now but that did not seem to be a problem for Nuno, Wagner or Farke, to name but three. Bring 'em on!!

RE: A New Manager - WBA-Josh - 24-05-2019

Irvine, Pulis, Pardew, Big Dave and Shan have been our last 5 Head Coaches and we find ourselves with another season in the Championship.

Give me a foreign Head Coach any day of the week, especially German. They may not know the league but they’re more intelligent coaches.

RE: A New Manager - Blue Baggie - 28-05-2019

Wait for it - wait for it !!!!
We're still waiting for our senior management who are scared to make a decision. I think we're fed up of waiting now, it's become a non entity.

Let's Face it anyone with half a brain wouldn't want to work for our lot of bean counters

RE: A New Manager - Foxman_WBA - 28-05-2019

Simple answer is.... hell no! Our board already thought of singing a tried and tested manager in Pardew and it all fell apart!

Oh I know, Pulis and Pardew are not only experienced in the league but their also experience at our club. Lets have them back as No1 and No2?

For me we have to look to the future, we are going to lose all our 'experienced' players so lets bring in a relatively experienced fresh manager that wants to grow with our club.

What about the likes of Mowbray & RDM? They had very successful Championship campaigns with us, despite Mowbray having only managed Hibs (not including 4 games as interim manager at Ipswich) & RDM having only managed MK Don's.

That's a bit like the Danny Cowley thing, I suppose. Don't know if that's faded away, though.
