Slightly surprised at Barry and JBW, but none of the others. I wait with baited breath for the incomings!

Am surprised at Ofoegbu. When I have seen him play he has looked useful.
The rest was as expected.

RE: Released Players - Devongone - 08-05-2019

I'd have kept Iffy and JBW of the ditched list. JBW seems a particularly stupid decision.

I cannot imagine how anyone could think keeping Robbie Weir is a good idea. He must talk a better game than he plays.

Welle he is Irish, Dev. Blarney, and all that. Is his contract up, though, or does it still have a year to run? I dunno, but I`m sure one of you lot will.

I suppose some of the decisions could have been based on what sort of contracts they were on and whether they were prepared to take a drop in earnings. Weren`t several of the released players taken while we were still in the EFL? Perhaps they were on contracts that reflected this. If so, they might have been deemed to be too expensive to keep on at this level and Shez presumably wants to clear up as much of the budget as he can to bring in his own players.

RE: Released Players - Devongone - 09-05-2019

Do you think Shez still has his own players? He's managed so many teams that must encompass most lower-league players.

Some rumours of Dan Gardner coming back. Anthony Gerrard has been mentioned as well but doubt it. Blair Turgott another player who has been linked. David Fox as well.

Dan Gardner has been released by Oldham as well as Sheridan's son Jay who is a Left Back.

Dan Gardner has only been fit half of last season, Sheridan's son was sent out on loan and if we sign that b'st'rd Gerrard that is the end of me as a Spireite.

Of the names mentioned so far only Turgott is worth a second thought. Alex Brown from Buxton or Trotman from Darlo, somebody like Mitchell Dickenson from Hythe Town, Ben Garrity from Warrington, Huddart from Boreham Wood to keep goal ......... oh cripes I can barely imagine who we will really get, don't suppose it'll be any of them.

Alex Brown has signed a new deal at Buxton. Player which we should be looking at is Glen Taylor at Spennymoor he's scored 25 goals season just gone.
