Terriers v The Red Mancs - the last home stand - theo_luddite - 04-05-2019 The quickly re-edited edition. (and someone's been busy on the site sorting out the bugs ![]() SUNDAY now there's a novelty for us. 04-May-2019 Kick-Off 14:00 or failing that whenever you can get there. I know the pubs are open and it's a Bank Holiday. It's in that Big Blue Stadium next to The Ropewalk. Just form an orderly queue AND STAY BEHIND THE SIGN UNTIL YOU ARE CALLED NEXT PLEASE !!!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() Pity the ale is crap these days. On the tellybox Uncle Rupert's merry men (or whoever he's sold them out to) have decided to come and read the last rights over a generally poorer than anticipated season and lets face it, home results in general. For you lucky people who are watching at home or from abroad, in addition to Sky you get to choose from all these other wonderful channels and feeds that will be showing it in your living room, bedroom or your mum's attic. It's your choice. https://www.livesoccertv.com/match/3019048/huddersfield-town-vs-manchester-united/ There's only one Dean Hoyle Per M'lud Snooty's thread, the significance of the match has now changed in the hearts and minds of all fellow Town fans, as it will be the last home game that Deano will be our Chairman. These last 10 years have been one helluva ride and we can all salute the man on Sunday who has given us the privilege to ride his coat tails to where we've been and where we've come from. ![]() ![]() ![]() https://www.htafc.com/news/2019/may/club-statement-dean-hoyle/ https://www.htafc.com/news/2019/may/hoyle-the-fans-have-been-magnificent-to-me/ As he always promised, he's handing over to someone with the best interests of Town at heart and best of all another fellow Town fan in Phil Hodgkinson, CEO and Founder of the PURE Business Group. He'll still be around on the board to help and guide the new fella, so he's notgone completely. No mega rich Yanks, no money laundering Ruski's, no Chinese Takeaways, just another Town fan - it'll do for me, how about you? ![]() Well I tried, but I could find a song called Oh Deano, so just change one word in this song and you'll get it. ![]() ![]() He sells cards M'lud, he sells cards, but I'm sure you all know that. Pre-match Entertainment If you turn up late on Sunday you may find yourself bobbing and weaving through a load of sicklebikists wearing Town like sicklebikists shirts and dodgy lycra shorts. The Pedal4Pounds lads and lasses will be back from their latest Tour-de-Europe and t'East Riding and doing a lap of honour. Last Spring Bank was the warmest on record, but this could be the coldest if not the wettest for many a year so a big hand to them that rode the cobbles of the lowlands and the cobbles of Yorkshire back from Hull to raise funds for the same causes we try to, though we've not raised quite so much this season. Deano, not surprisingly has given the pedaling bit of a miss this season, but he's still been out with his barbie. Pic shamelessly nicked from The Unexamined just in case they ask. ![]() The German Apprentice v The Danish Apprentice (aka the Smiling Assassin). No prizes for guessing who was dealt the slightly better hand when both clubs went looking for a new head coach/manager earlier in the season. Once Mr. Glum had been let go down Sir Matt Busby Way, surprise, surprise, just in time to play us on Boxing Day, funny how that works innit? ![]() Form Tables No surprise where we are, but they aren't exactly top of the league in this part of the season either. With some Town players now possibly wanting to impress a new Chairman (not that he won't have seen the way some of them perform in between watching Southport play) could an upset be on the cards? The dynamic has maybe just changed a little here, it would be nice for it to be in our favour for one of the few times this season. Last time out We got pummelled in Scouseland They hung on for a point at home to Chelski Who's banging 'em in The guy Moaning Maureen didn't want to pick for the most part, which by sitting him on the bench for the defeat to Liverpool at Old Trafford, pretty much sealed his fate. Fergie was probably spinning in his wine glass that day. Where did they spend the brass? Well a huge chunk of it went on a lad from Brazil that still can't get a regular game. Cue - Right Said Fred? Or maybe you were thinking of this one? ![]() Either way, something is definitely Deeply Dippy down Old Trafford way these days. Did they get owt back on the empties? Aye, a few bob for some beers and a tray of prawn sarnies anyway from this lot. We've beat you before Not often mind .... ![]() Who else is playing this weekend? Up top, there's some squabbling about qualifying for a European competition nobody wants to play in. At the bottom there's a couple of clubs trying not to be the wrong side of the trap door a week on Sunday. Strangely enough, the both play the Mancs next Sunday if it not decided this weekend. Is it too early to look forward to next season? No, but The Blunts will be Yorkshire's top dogs next season, and fair play to them. They've more or less done what we did, it took 'em a while to catch up after that penalty that went into orbit at Wembley, but fair play to them. They haven't spent silly money this time - yet. There's every chance that we'll still have a bagful of Yorkshire Derby's too, with Barnsalee replacing Rotherham and L666s doing their best to fall apart again ![]() ![]() ![]() I won't dwell on that for too long however, they'll all still be playing when we kick off on Sunday well before L666s blow it in the play-off games again. Siewerts Sage Slaver https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0787kx4 Bacuna's Brave Blather https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0787nng Both interviews from Radio Local and were recorded before the Deano News broke. Ole's next to last Olé In Summary My thingumybob under my moniker hasn't changed these last two seasons - in case you've missed it says Enjoy it While it Lasts. Well I did, for the most part, though some performances would have tried the patience of a saint this season and many of them last season too. It won't erase memories of trips to grounds I'd only seen on the tellybox for far too long and talking to folk about a club many had never previously heard of in far off places, like Germany, Spain, the other side of the pond and let's not forget, Coventry. Hopefully we'll do a Boing like the Baggies or a rebound like Burnalee. If we don't it won't kill us. It will only upset the hangers-on and those who've bought season cards for next season on the hope of where we'll maybe be the season after. For the rest of us on here - we don't care, we'll be here, there and every 'kin where wherever we are. We've all been on this journey for far too long to jump off at the next stop. Right, so all things considered, whatever happens in the match happens, now't much we can do about it, it's down to the lads on the pitch to grow a pair - but let's give Deano a final game to remember from the stands. As my gran used to say .... It costs nowt to say thank you. Enjoy your Summer Town fans and come back loud and proud to be a Terrier next season. ![]() ![]() RE: Terriers v The Red Mancs - the last home stand - Lord Snooty - 04-05-2019 Nice one theo ![]() Yeah yeah, them bicyclists have made more charity dosh than us this season, but we've still two games to play and we can catch them up a bit. Come on big Steve. For the kids. They need breakfast. ![]() RE: Terriers v The Red Mancs - the last home stand - theo_luddite - 04-05-2019 There should be enough brass for them to turn the kettle on a couple of times at the 'copter park and a few boxes of wheatybangs for the kids when they go back to school. Won't be many fry ups at either. PS not deliberately copied stuff from AmChaff and Snoots on their thread. I was draining a bottle of vin rouge while burning both ends of the candle doing this, so not paying much attention to other threads. ![]() RE: Terriers v The Red Mancs - the last home stand - theo_luddite - 04-05-2019 Don't know whether to laugh or cry moment. Theo Robinson scores twice to send a Notts County side with Jon Stead and someone called Craig Mackail-Smith out of the league. Funny how that shit works. RE: Terriers v The Red Mancs - the last home stand - Lord Snooty - 04-05-2019 Makes you thankful we got our relegation sorted out weeks ago. Could never stand all this last day heart attack nonsense. ![]() RE: Terriers v The Red Mancs - the last home stand - theo_luddite - 04-05-2019 Neither could Cardiff, they are finally down too so the only tears on the telly next week will be Red Scousers or Blue Mancs. Let it flow, let it flow girls. RE: Terriers v The Red Mancs - the last home stand - Lord Snooty - 05-05-2019 Well that were alright. ![]() Just watching SSN and guess what? It's all about how bad they were and not how good we were.....again. ![]() We were good and deserved to win. we were bloody brilliant. ![]() |
