RE: This Site - Stairs - 29-04-2019

OK - Update.

We have updated Sportsbabble to the very latest version of the forum software - fingers are now firmly crossed.

Normally we like to stay at least one release behind the latest release to avoids being a victim of bugs and other issues. But needs must, given the amount of downtime the site has suffered.

If there are issues after 10am today then they are new and will leave me pulling my hair out.

FYI, for those that were not here from the start. I took on the site because New606 was a dead platform and because I love football. We do not make money and have no technical skills whatsoever and so rely 100% on the kindness and generosity of Mark for all things technical.

It is clear to us that this can happen again and we need to protect ourselves and you guys by finding a way to raise funds / donations to ensure we can cover the cost of hosting and investigative time when/if something like this happens.

The Amazon link was added by no-one is using it and so that has not, yet, proven itself useful. The alternately, if to find one or two sponsors. If anyone can sponsor this site or knows someone who would, then please let me know.

RE: This Site - Blue Baggie - 29-04-2019

Hi Stairs - simple donation from the members is normally the way to go. A couple of quid from the 100's of members a few times a year.
Ain't to much to ask is it. A little Blue star added to clearly identify contributors.

That’s what happens when an upgrade happens. New unexpected features happen.
I will look into this but at the moment so long as the site is accessible I am very happy.

Centralised text is awkward. Navigation using the go option and foot of a thread is very simple. Not the end of the world.

I will look into this but, as I am now off to Dubai for a while, I’d rather it was working than I screw things up trying to make a change.
