The second one is even funnier! I can only imagine the look of horror on the `keepers`s face when he realised what was going to happen and started haring back towards the goal.

Believe it or not, something almost identical happened in a junior game many years ago now that one of my lads was playing in. However, on the basis that he`d started walking back to the centre-circle and had turned his back on the goal so "didn`t see what happened" , the referee wouldn`t allow the goal to stand. The fact that both linesmen (I was one of them) explained it all to him, he still wouldn`t have it.

I can't understand why the first one didn't just catch the ball as it was coming down. He was on his feet in plenty of time.

In any other circumstances if the ball hit your bar or post you'd do your best to see where it had gone, but with idiot penalty shoot-outs normal behaviour flies out the window. As a way to decide a game they are pants.
