Scottish Cup semi-final v Aberdeen - the "triple treble" beckons!! - 0762 - 08-04-2019 I reckon this semi-final couldn't come quick enough after that disappointing league match v Livy in which Celtic had well over 75% possession and scorned lotsa scoring opps incl an astounding last min "miss" by Burke from about 4 ft off Livy's goal line - no excuses for that gaffe!! Aberdeen missing the suspended Graeme Shinnie and that will be a huge miss in midfield commitment that I reckon Celtic will exploit with "waves" of attacking moves that the Dons will not withstand in 90 mins. Also noticeable that missing players gradually recovering to full fitness although Boyata will likely be out until possibly the Scottish Cup final. Rogic, Christie, Tierney and Benkovic all conveniently up to full match fitness in the coming weeks! The "triple treble" definitely beckons as long as complacency does not pervade the players' attitude to future expectations. RE: Scottish Cup semi-final v Aberdeen - the "triple treble" beckons!! - 1Wattie - 09-04-2019 Celtic will reach the final simply because Aberdeen can`t get close to beating them. Celtic will bounce back from the disappointing result against Livingston and that usually makes for a tough time for their opponents. I think Celtic will win by 2 or 3 goals. RE: Scottish Cup semi-final v Aberdeen - the "triple treble" beckons!! - 0762 - 13-04-2019 As this semi-final looms closer, the "bonus" is that the other Scot Cup finalist is that poor, single-dimensional Hertz team that actually "looked good" today v an ICT team that was a "pale shadow" of the side that beat Hertz a few years ago in a LC semi-final with nine players on the pitch but this time playing a Hertz team that "plays for corner kicks and pks" lol!! They have indeed fluked their way to a cup final and what an insult to Scottish footie that such a team can get anywhere near a domestic final but that is Scottish footie "in a nutshell" when the draw can literally fluke certain teams to a final!!! In the bbc match report today, one reporter commented that the game at the end of the 1st half was not "pleasing to the eye" lol!! Maybe that was the reason why 1000s of Hertz fans were booing their own team!! Anyway, what an understatement and as for ICT's John Robertson with all that pre-match "cheap talk" - you're not gonna get the Hertz job now John after that ICT capitulation v a very poor Premiership side that should actually be playing in the "bottom six" lol!! RE: Scottish Cup semi-final v Aberdeen - the "triple treble" beckons!! - turkeydinner - 14-04-2019 Dons capitulation and getting two sent off just made it worse Unlike Celtic and the chasing pack failure to strengthen squad and first team has been a major problem I guess it`ll get worse with the new stadium and possibly two loan signings to replace perhaps seven first team outgoings in the summer Awful football this year and whilst I dont expect million pound signings but yes expecting Tony Watt to be the height of pre-season signings next year RE: Scottish Cup semi-final v Aberdeen - the "triple treble" beckons!! - hibeejim21 - 14-04-2019 Imagine putting a team out in a semi final to play like that? Aberdeen were shocking the day, playing the kind of clogging, boot every one to xxxx fitba they did with us in the league cup.....only incredibly they got punished for It this time. Aberdeen could do better than McInnes, his game plan came apart early on today and they all lost the plot. Embarrassing. RE: Scottish Cup semi-final v Aberdeen - the "triple treble" beckons!! - 0762 - 14-04-2019 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/47791824 Yep! FT and a decent 0-3 win for the Hoops who started "fast off the blocks" and with a total "implosion" by the Dons - two red cards + Derek McInnes and his assistant ordered to the stands!! Not a good day for the Dons and, as soon as I heard the news that McGinn was joining Shinnie "in absentia", a tidy bet placed on Wattie's prediction of 0-2 or 0-3 and it "paid off" with great satisfaction!! ![]() RE: Scottish Cup semi-final v Aberdeen - the "triple treble" beckons!! - hibeejim21 - 14-04-2019 Hertz were murder in their semi final too. Ikpeazu is a handful physically but he's not much of a footballer. They really need that horrible scrote Naismith for that game to have any chance Leveins a xxxx dinosaur, coaches like him have put Scottish fitba back years. RE: Scottish Cup semi-final v Aberdeen - the "triple treble" beckons!! - 0762 - 14-04-2019 I've previously commented that Hertz are performing at a National League standard in England, not even 4th tier level, and no apologies on that rating as it is based on some of the most miserable, uninspiring performances in cup and league matches that have pulled consequent damning match reports which were not complimentary at all. Lastly, I must comment that having reviewed that Ball challenge on poor Ryan Christie, IMO Ball should actually either be recalled by the SFA ref panel for further punishment or given a long suspension for that cynical challenge!! He was late and could easily have pulled out of that assault on Christie but chose not to do that!! RE: Scottish Cup semi-final v Aberdeen - the "triple treble" beckons!! - hibeejim21 - 16-04-2019 McInnes sent off for responding to sectarian abuse. Fair enough, I've always felt if fans give it out they need to expect it back, but he should still be done for it . Personally I think it was more to do with his game plan falling to bits. Moaning about the refs decisions is jaw dropping....they were both straight red cards in all truth. I wonder if he's for the off in the summer....maybe his last chance of a final and what would have been a winnable won out the window now. RE: Scottish Cup semi-final v Aberdeen - the "triple treble" beckons!! - 0762 - 16-04-2019 In his post match interview, McInnes did "touch" on the poor result being a factor in the way he reacted to a scenario that has happened before. |
