Hertz v Hibs, Sat 6 Apr, KO 12.30pm - 0762 - 04-04-2019

So another Embro Derby looms closer as Hertz and Potter, "licking their wounds"after another limp concession to Rangers at Ibronx!!! But I and most Hibs fans know only too well that Potter will be ready for one of his "big games", his top priority against Hibs eh!!! And try to beat us again!! I notice that he has violated the new rule on concussion/head knocks that cover football and rugby injuries by recalling his big "battering ram" centre forward who, by all accounts, was totally ga ga v Aberdeen with concussion and stretchered off five days ago!! This rule is devised to protect players from themselves and it was interesting listening to a bbc radio debate on this very subject!! I call it desperation which is no excuse and is one of the reasons why the medical reg was introduced to contact sports like footie and rugby.
Anyway, Hibs go to the "pink bus shelter" still unbeaten under Paul Heckingbottom and in good shape to poss attain a positive result v a Hertz side which IMO is not as good as many folk seem to think it is but it is a home game for them on a small pitch and they will likely win it under Potter's usual negative guidance. It is also interesting when one looks at both clubs' league stats as the glaring one is Hertz negative GD while Hibs, 1 pt behind them, is +14 and yet we are not ahead of them - unusual!! I'd love to beat them now mainly to balance out a number of "duff calls" that we have experienced at this venue, some of them absolutely disgraceful!! A real "pumping" of Potter and his team would be heaven sent but any win would be enough!! Don't lose this game Hibs esp after all the good recovery work in attaining a "top six" finish!!

I would love it (kevin keegan style) if we went there and turned them and their shitey hoofball footballling style over in their purple shoebox of a stadium.... I want to see levein in tears of rage and budge's face tripping her afterwards.

Not the nicest day for it.

Hehh hehhhhh - but still a good day to beat Hertz on their own ground after six years of trying - FT 1-2 and hero Horgan with a "brace" of goals, Heckingbottom still unbeaten in the Premiership and Hibs "leapfrog" above Hertz into 5th place!! Thumb up Daryl Horgan was my MOTM but some excellent Hibs defensive performances were evident in this game!! Also it was a pity Stevie Mallan's 2nd half FK from 45 yards was saved by Zlamal to deny him one of the goals of the season!! 6 inches higher and the baw would've nestled in Hertz "top corner"! Still, Horgan made up for that disappointment with that cracking one touch-two touch-three touch winning goal!! Great stuff and Potter's "tripping face" was priceless as well as many dejected faces in the Hertz stands!!

That was xxxx sweet. Two great finishes from us the day.

Hertz started the game as i expected, aggressively and on the front foot. But once we equalised I thought we handled their physicality and strength fairly well. Hanlon was exceptional.

I know hertz had a lot of pressure in the 2nd half and piled ball after ball into the box creating a couple of really good chances but we also could have scored 2 or 3 after the interval on the break. Our passing and decision making just isn't quite sharp enough yet.

IMO this is a poor hertz side, they have little creativity and pace in their team. Ilpeazu is a big handful but he's as mobile as a wardrobe and is always looking for the foul.

Happy days.... and my horse won the national !!
