Put the humble pie back in the freezer - Dancingwilldoit - 23-02-2019

First game in a while due to illness. Wish I was still ill.
That was absolutely bloody awful. We were shocking. It was like going back to one of Martin Allens team selections and performances. We couldn't pass, we either overhit the ball or gave it away time and time again. I lost count of the number of times a player ran himself into trouble and lost the ball.
It was the 45th minute before we even had a shot and after 90 mins I think we had managed about 4.
Their keeper just didn't have to make a save all afternoon and they could have still won without him being on the pitch.
Scott Boden scored an absolute blinder at the wrong end and for the rest of the time it was like going back 8 years watching him run around like a headless chicken.
Dont know who Harrogate's no 4 is, he was captain, but at first I thought he was their mascot as he looked about 4' 6". We let him run the midfield. I know size doesn't matter (so my wife tells me) but we just backed off and off and off.

Mr Sheridan has a lot of work to do to keep us up.

According to the stats we didn't get a shot on target.

They had two ex-Spires in Lloyd Kerry and Dylan Mottley-Henry (on as sub!).

I wasn't surprised by what happened. You have to be capable of scoring in open play and we aren't. I know loads of goals come from spot kicks and dead balls ....... but to get those chances the opposition has to think you are capable of scoring. And by the sound of it, it is bleedin' obvious we aren't.

At least Maguire and Carter were fit enough to make the field. But our biggest loss was no Will Evans. He's the bloke with the guts, if not the skill, to change things and grab a goal.

Play with a smile on their faces Sheridan said. That from a wasp!

I really hope a 3rd relegation in a row isn't looming.

We now need to beat Barnet OR Wrexham. One of them will be good enough. But one will take a lot of doing with this team.

Though I did not want Sheridan as manager, and don't like the man, I have to say that if he keeps us up he'll have done his job even if I didn't agree with many of the steps along the way.

Wrexham Saturday and then playing again Tuesday night will be a real test. The games come thick and fast now. If the price of winning a match is losing one then it is worth paying. It would keep us up.

At the moment I are mostly scared of Jalal gettin' injured.

Anyon in goal? God you know how to cheer me up.
We just dont want anymore performances like against Harrogate.
That was awful.

Thought that might scare you - a Harrogate performance and Anyon in goal ...... Shaw and Kiwomya up front and us lumping desperate high balls at them.
