St Johnstone 0 Celtic 2 - a star is born! - 0762 - 03-02-2019

This was a tricky match for Celtic v a stuffy Saints' team and it was a vital win. Also a "star is born" in the form of new signing, Timothy Weah, who played a huge part in this victory - setting up the 1st goal for James Forrest and ensuring victory with a stunning breakaway goal. However, one big concern is the damage incurred to various players! Forrest hobbled off with a hamstring injury, Odsonne Edouard injured with what looks like a broken foot and Ajer picked up a straight red card late on. Anyway, Celtic now register 5 x consecutive wins and definitely picking up momentum plus 6 pts ahead and counting!

Sellick players dropping like flies now......Those injuries give us a wee chance midweek, they have got virtually a whole team out injured.

On the other hand Weah looks an absolutely frightening player. 18 year old ? That touch and cross for the first goal was out of sight.

Re Edouard's injury, IMO that dangerous "studs up" challenge by Shaughnessy was a definite pk - another kop out by ref Golum!! It didn't matter anyway but a recognition of footie rules would help esp after that farcical 4 x pk award v Saint Mirren at Ibronx yesterday!!

Steven Thompson just said on sportscene that it wasn't even a foul Laugh Laugh Oh well.

Aye! What a joke! Nae wonder Thompson "falls out" wi Mikey Stewart quite a lot! Anywhere else on the pitch and that would be deemed a dangerous challenge that merited a yellow card - an easy decision! Geezzz, Shaughnessy has actually hurt Edouard quite badly as well!! In the old days, I could see some players giving Shaughnessy a set of knuckles to "play with his teeth" following that desperate challenge and I'll bet he would've been sent off too!! A ref is also there to protect players!!! Additionally if you watch a video replay of that incident, Christie has been fouled on the goal line just preceding that Shaughnessy foul - it's a double whammy of ref gaffes!! This was Golum "in his element" when it comes to decisions like this one!! The "theory" is that he has been "got at" in some way since his "brief suspension" from officiating one match. JUST REFEREE PROPERLY AND FORGET HUN POLITICS!!!
