Fatal Loan Deal Agreed - Devongone - 29-01-2019 Luke Rawson is going back to Sheffield FC on loan. IMO no player has yet achieved a successful full-time professional football career with this pattern of Matlock and Sheffield loans weighing down his CV. Poor kid wasted his time putting pen to paper only a few weeks ago. He'll limp into the penalty area dragging the full weight of historic expectations unfulfilled behind him. The first cross he'll appeal that the centre back is holding him down before realising it is the leaden gravity of his own situation. It's like learning the high jump on the planet Uranus. Why do we keep doing this? RE: Fatal Loan Deal Agreed - Dancingwilldoit - 29-01-2019 Sheridan doesnt have a youth policy. Bring em on ship em out and let someone else pay the wages is his mantra. Any money you like Amantchi goes out on loan in the next 2 weeks. RE: Fatal Loan Deal Agreed - spireitematt - 29-01-2019 Doing well Sheffield FC are, 4th in the league and have a chance of getting into the Northern Premier League. AFC Mansfield are struggling in Sheffield FC's league. RE: Fatal Loan Deal Agreed - Devongone - 30-01-2019 I know Sheffield are currently doing well and AFC Mansfield have been struggling the whole season Matt. But ........ I'm only guessing here ....... I don't think Sheffield really want to go up ........ so even if it were a loan that impressed me I wouldn't send a young player there at the moment. I feel like Dancing, which could be a song, that Amantchi will probably be the next to suffer this terminal blow to his career. Both players have reached the point at which they NEED to take the next step (not repeat the one before last). They need to be in and around OUR first team squad, perhaps not starting every week, but clocking up minutes bringing youth, freshness and ambition with them onto the field. A sensible approach to loaning out young players who have shown they are on the verge of our first team would be to loan them no lower than National North / South. Otherwise I'm afraid the finished product is a player who is good at the level you tested him at, but who is still facing quite a high jump to our first team level and in the worst instance (which might be the case with an Amantchi or a Rawson) has actually regressed to that level! |
