Not sure I like the sound of this. As much as I would like to see a fan owned club, I think this is the wrong model. What happens if rival fans decide to become members and dictate the way our club is run.

I see your point, Matt, but it`s an intriguing idea all the same.

I think I`d want to know a lot more about the mechanics of it before I formed a definite opinion one way or the other. For example, what does “gives its subscribers.......... the ability to make key decisions with regard to how it is run” mean? Does 'key decisions' include transfer and recruitment?

I`m not at all sure as yet, but it does sound interesting.

It doesn't say in this article but it wouldn't necessarily be Chesterfield. Its actually for "a football club" which could be Chesterfield. The investors would all have a vote on which club they took over and am pretty sure the hefty price tag for CFC would relegate us to the bottom of anybodies acquisition list. It will be more a matter of who they can afford rather than DA bending over backwards to accept a paltry proportion of his "investment".
If anybody thinks enough CFC fans will subscribe to this to give DA £13-14million, they are living in cloud cuckoo land.
Total non starter for me which am surprised the Derbyshire Times even bothered with. It must be slow news week in North Derbyshire.
