Hibs v Hearts, Sat 29 Dec, KO 5.30pm - 0762 - 28-12-2018 An Embro Derby on a late Saturday afternoon at 5.30pm "for a change" and it will be interesting to see how Neil "tackles" this fixture in front of a sell out crowd. Hibs tend to "show up" in these kinda fixtures but he has had to chop n change the Hibs team as injuries have persisted. It looks like David Gray could finally return for this game but the ever reliable Stevo will likely be missing due to injury. Sean Mackie may well be called upon to "do the biz". Hertz are not that good and IMO Hibs need to just "keep a close eye" on Naismith who I don't think is fully match fit anyway but focus on a hi press tactic to give Hertz lots to think about. One visiting side to ER is eventually gonna incur a "doing" from Hibs. Hopefully that will happen on Saturday although the "wise betting money" will be placed on a draw as Hibs current form favours that result due to our misfiring strikers. GGTTH RE: Hibs v Hearts, Sat 29 Dec, KO 5.30pm - hibeejim21 - 29-12-2018 Not sure what kind of side Neil will put out for this, but I'd imagine a midfield slog lies ahead so it wouldn't surprise me if Bartley is recalled if he passes a fitness test and we got to 5 in the middle with Kamberi up top. Is there a more despised player than Naismith ? He has the most slappable face. His constant diving, cheating and attempts to injure fellow pro's end up being more talked about than anything he does with the ball. How fitting hertz base their game around this dickhead. Hopefully a win - via a ropey penalty so potters head explodes. RE: Hibs v Hearts, Sat 29 Dec, KO 5.30pm - hibeejim21 - 30-12-2018 Mehhh. A midfield battle that basically had 2 moments of quality, one which resulted in a goal for hertz, and ours which hit the post and trundled along the line. Some of our approach play was decent 1st half but a) our forwards aren't doing enough currently and b)we lack a creative player that can make things happen. 2nd half we mostly ended up just launching it and it was meat and drink for Berra. Naismiths a cock but he is vital to levein as he brings their other players into the game. We need to find someone for that role in January. Don't think we deserved to lose, but hey-ho...not much is going our way currently. RE: Hibs v Hearts, Sat 29 Dec, KO 5.30pm - 0762 - 30-12-2018 A good summary! I can't add much more than that other than they certainly did not deserve to win this match and I still regard them as a single-dimensional outfit who are a "deception" when it comes to their current position in the league. I think that recent Livy "thrashing" exposed and humiliated them "big time" - no getting away from that and it is a pity it was not a rampant Hibs side that did similar damage but sadly degraded themselves down to Hearts and Levein's level of football style for a good part of this match! They are not that good (it would be a disgrace if they got anywhere near a top four place in this league!!! Not good enough!!) but we are unfortunately "firefighting" through a shit festive fixture list!! Bring on the Jan transfer window!! RE: Hibs v Hearts, Sat 29 Dec, KO 5.30pm - 1Wattie - 30-12-2018 There are too many Hibs players hiding when we need a good workman like display from them. I think Kamberi has been a big disappointment and probably needs to move on in the transfer window but the question is will the board give Neil the necessary funds to freshen up our attacking displays. With home attendances of 18-20,000 there should be some money available for him. RE: Hibs v Hearts, Sat 29 Dec, KO 5.30pm - 0762 - 30-12-2018 I share a similar sentiment re Kamberi 1Wattie. He is part of the ongoing prob re non-delivery of goals by our strikers and there have been lotsa decent goal opps created by Hibs support players in the past couple of months! However, Kamberi is still in the 1st year of a 3 year contract. IMO we need an experienced pen box striker of the same ilk as the likes of Sparky or Stokesy!! The improvement to the Hibs team would be immense! RE: Hibs v Hearts, Sat 29 Dec, KO 5.30pm - Fredstersafool - 31-12-2018 Thought i'd have a wee visit to the site and I see what i've missed, seems to be nothing same old bitterness from a certain poster, we're so poor we're 7 points clear of you lot and not lost a derby so far this year, as for the festive fixture lists you have played one more game than Hearts in December hardly a massive undertaking, just be truthful for once and give a balanced opinion on both sides there is nothing between them, take yer head out of your rectum. Sorry I meant to say season not year. Listening to Neil's comments yesterday and it looks like Scotty Allan will not be the only transfer target - possibly another two coming in as Lenny lamenting the past month of players regularly being injured or suddenly "pulling up" during one training session or another + the massive loss of John McGinn who is now a revelation at Villa Park - roll on to the January transfer window and indeed "freshening things up"! |
