Curry house - twertonparkbaggie - 18-12-2018

Coming up to the game against Wednesday on 29th. Normally after the game I head straight back home down the M5 to the West Country. As I am bringing some family with me, we intend to stop for a curry somewhere. Can any of you “locals” recommend anywhere ? Not to far from a motorway junction would be handy, doesn’t have to be close to the Hawthorns, anywhere on the way South. Thanks and happy Xmas .

I'm sure the vine pub is famous for its curries now , just off the motorway island as though you're going into town Huh

Yeah, the Vine is a desi pub renowned for its curries, but I'm not sure how busy/rowdy it gets post-match on a Saturday. One of my favourite places used to be Dosamania in Harborne, where they specialise in southern Indian cuisine; great food, really cheap, but I haven't actually been now for a couple of years, and I think it might have been taken over.

The Keg & Grill is also a great desi pub in B'ham city centre, within spitting distance of the Mailbox, in the warren of backstreets behind the Gas St Basin. You'd have to book at least a day in advance though, because Saturday is busy there. Good pub just down the hill called the Craven Arms for a pint afterward.

The Vine is very busy before a game, But if you are travelling south down the M5, head for LYE HIGH STREET, loads of curry houses there, the Shimla is a good un and back on the M5 via Hagley in 10 minutes.

Maliks, The Spice of Lyefe, Balti Bazaar are all excellent , all situated in LYE. Google em. My choice would be Malik's on Lye crossroads.
