It doesn't look very vital, does it? It's the smallest in the Premier League. They have played there since 1910, although they were known as Boscombe FC at that time. Bournemouth didn't become part of their name until 1923 when they entered the 3rd Division as Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic. Their current name didn't come into use until 1972.

Perhaps one of you can help with places to drink or get refreshments.

A very disappointing result on Saturday for both teams, although their 3-1 defeat away to Man City is less of a surprise than our 2-1 defeat at home to Brighton. Many Town fans feel aggrieved by Saturday's result. A lack of consistency from referee Michael Oliver, who was already off of our Christmas Card list, leaves us without Mounie who will be serving a three match ban. Like I said before, even though I can see why he was sent off, it still seems unfair because of that inconsistency.

Zanka's goal on Saturday not only makes him top scorer (alphabetically, at least) but it is the fastest scored goal this season at 55 secs.

Bournemouth's top scorer is Callum Wilson on, ahem, 8.  Smartass He got their only goal on Saturday, by the way.

After the weekend's results Town are in 17th place on 10 points and Bournemouth in 9th on 20.

Overall, we have the better of Bournemouth with League wins 17-14 and 17 draws. Last season we each won the home fixture. We haven't won at Bournemouth since 20th Jan 2007 in League One. Our goals came from Jon Worthington and Danny Schofield that day. Our best result at Dean Court other than that was a 1-1 draw on 14th Feb 2015 in the Championship. James Vaughan kicked the corner flag for us that day. So............. it's not boding well, is it?  Doh

Still, let's be positive ....

Whistle Laurent, Laurent Depoitre will score a goal for me  Whistle

Actually, I am positive. We have shown time and again that we have the ability.

Played for both -

Benik Afobe, once on loan with us had a permanent spell at Bournemouth.

Anton Robinson signed for us from Bournemouth in 2011. He stayed on contract until 2014 although on loan to Gillingham in 2013 and Coventry in 2014. No idea what happened to him after that.

Donal McDermott was on loan with Bournemouth prior to signing for Town in 2011. He went on to sign for Bournemouth in 2012. He was a bit of a nutter if I remember correctly.

Lionel Ainsworth has got about a bit but had a brief loan spell at Bournemouth in 2006 when he was no' but a lad. He's currently just along the coast there in Plymouth.

How many Town fans will be there? Anyone fancy a guess? Are any of you willing to do Bournemouth on a cold Tuesday night in December? Where's the furthest you've been for a midweek fixture?

The forecast is about 10 degrees and rain. Sing loud and proud in the rain if you're going.

RE: Bournemouth v Huddersfield - Lord Snooty - 02-12-2018

Well done, Amelia at such short notice. Smartass

RE: Bournemouth v Huddersfield - Lord Snooty - 02-12-2018

It don't get any better. We've got Roger East in charge of this one. Doh

RE: Bournemouth v Huddersfield - sloppyattheback - 02-12-2018

I'll be there Tuesday, couple of days off this week and pretending to be working on Wednesday as I make my way back north.
Not very hopeful as we looked leggy yesterday with 11 men and can see Waggers making changes for this and for the Gooners on Saturday, the 2 following home games are fixtures we should target to have our strongest teams out and look for points.

I think we'll be competitive but they move it well at pace and never been a happy hunting ground, 500 townies perhaps ?

Anything this week on the road will be massive.

RE: Bournemouth v Huddersfield - Lord Snooty - 02-12-2018

He'll definitely make changes. Half a dozen at least. Where on earth has VLP gone anyway?

Try this AmChaff

VLP was still eating in Wolves Nando's last Wednesday, allegedly, he owed a few favours. I made that up by the way, like a lot of my threads. Big Grin
Bornmuff is a nightmare to get to on a Saturday if you live sarf of the Thames let alone from Yorksha or Muddled England on a Tuesday. Getting home could take a month.
See above and repeat.

RE: Bournemouth v Huddersfield - WakeyTerrier - 03-12-2018

I had the opportunity to attend but a combination of 2 days off work, a new boiler and generally Town being quite shit on our travels put me off..oh yes and its December. I did Bournemouth on a Tuesday last time it fell as a midweek game as well so that's probably my furthest. I've done BHA at the Withdean and Southampton at St Marys as well but none felt further than a midweek trip to Carlisle.

I have zero expectation for this game or Saturdays, AFCB are a much better team than they get credit for and if Wilson is on his game then we could be in for a long night

RE: Bournemouth v Huddersfield - Lord Snooty - 03-12-2018

Town have appealed against Mounie's red card.

RE: Bournemouth v Huddersfield - Lord Snooty - 03-12-2018

What a shock. The FA have told Town to F. Off. Angry

Mounie will serve a three match ban.

RE: Bournemouth v Huddersfield - WakeyTerrier - 03-12-2018

Of course it was never going to be overturned. He was over the ball, studs first and late, just goes to show how much faith he's got in LDP when we are trying to overturn a obvious red card offence. At what point did anyone at Town think that the Panel wouldn't see why the ref sent him off
