Adam Reach - Was Wereham Owl - 21-10-2018

I read a lot about Adam Reach on various forums, the question is would you sell him if we got a big bid in January, people say he's inconsistent 1 in 5 good game ..or hold on and hope we come good ??

RE: Adam Reach - Imre varadi - 21-10-2018

He was inconsistant under carlos infact at best he was utter dogshite but under joss hes been our best player week in week  out nearly 90% of the games and the goals hes scored ..well we havnt had it as good since hirst and waddle were crashing them in ! we bought him for 5 million so hes worth at least 20 million if bigtime wolves from the fairyship come sniffing ! but at this present moment if we do sell him you can forget the playoffs and concrete the midtable !

Fessis the one we should get rid off because we cant get rid of Fletcher or Rhodes Doh i like fessi but a 15 million bid from leeds and we have to accept as lets face it he wont be here much longer after anyway as his loyalty is that of an Argie fullstop and i like fessi but loyalty and our shit state is going to see us losing money in the long run .. but saying that would we buy players if we sell any ? i doubt it !! it would all go towards the thunder xxxx bank balance Thumb down

we need a midfielder who can matach bannan a right back better than hunt was and a right winger !! 15million could get us these things but i doubt it would all get spent !

RE: Adam Reach - Maddix - 22-10-2018

The question is, can we keep him ? and is it fair to keep him ? The lad could be set up for life with the mental wages that they pay in Skyland so who are we to stand in his way ?

I think if we get did get £20 million we'd be able to sit back and say thank you and good luck Adam but, as Imre has said, how much will go back into the team Huh Not a lot Angry

PS Everyone was inconsistent under Coco Doh

RE: Adam Reach - St Charles Owl - 22-10-2018

If we get the chance to sell any of our players for say 20m then we have to take it. This money cannot be used to buy new players, it has to be used to balance the books under P&S rules. We have a gap of about 15m in those accounts, thats 15m over the 39m losses we are permitted. This won’t be going into anyones “pocket”, it has to be put into the club simply as cash to reduce the losses we have made.

So if Wolves want Reach and are prepared to meet our transfer fee, then we really have no choice but to accept and as Maddix says how would it look to other players we are trying to bring in if we were to stand in his way of playing in the PL and setting himself up for life.

RE: Adam Reach - peiowl - 22-10-2018

How would it look to the fans if we were to let him go? A club with no ambition and no interest in its fan base. Forget how it would look to the other players. They're mollycoddled anyway. Reach has to stay!

More than decent player Premiership quality maybe not did all right for us

How would it look to the fans if we get dealt a 20 point deduction at the start of next season??? We are heading for losses of over 50m over a rolling 3 seasons against a maximum of 39m as laid down by the rules. If we get a good offer for reach and it will fill that hole then we have to let him go, same goes for any player who will bring in that sort of money.

Its time for us to get real over our financial situation, we are not in any financial trouble in the normal sense, DC has plenty of money and has shown his willingness to spend it, but the EFL Profit and Sustainability rules will not allow us to spend the levels of money he wants to, we have to stay within the 39m losses or else we will see another transfer embargo at best and a points deduction at worst!!

This has nothing to do with the clubs ambition and if you think this club has no interest in the fans then that memory of yours is very, very short!!! We have to spend to get out of this division, because we did that and came close twice to achieving that, we cannot do it again for a couple of seasons, that is a reality. The only way we can spend money in the summer is to sell more than one of our better players to finance it, getting top dollar in January would be the sensible thing to do if we get the offers.

Actually, under the old FFP rules they didn't have a points deduction as an option, they had transfer embargos and fines as punishments. Embargos were put on a number of clubs, Forest being the main ones and fines were given to others, most notably QPR. Problem is the embargo didn't do anything but delay spending and the fines were not paid or were greatly reduced upon appeal, so when they moved from FFP to P&S they added points deductions to the list as well. The EFL feel that a points deduction would carry more weight with clubs because its hard not to get relegated when you get one!!

Exactly. SCO is taking an extreme and improbable hypothetical position. The fans are not going to pay good money to see third rate players while the club sells talented ones. So, attendance and gate returns will go down. We've been down this road numerous times before.
