Hearing rumours on Twitter Luke Dowling of Nottingham Forest is about to be appointed our new TD of football ?
Anyone no much about this guy ?

Only what he's done at Forest, likes to swap players about lots. Not sure how that fits well at our great club?

He's mentioned on news now west Brom site, apparently he was at Watford, helped mastermind their promotion to the greed league ... take a look .... on a tablet not sure how to.cut and paste, sorry.

The Baggies are reportedly close to agreeing a compensation package with Dowling’s current club and West Brom’s Championship rivals Nottingham Forest, where he has been working at since January.
Dowling had previously worked as a scout and coach, for many different clubs such as Leeds United and Portsmouth, and was also influential for Watford where he was the Hornets’ sporting director.
Dowling will look to offer guidance and support to a relatively young and inexperienced manager in Darren Moore, who make no bones about it, has done a magnificent job at the helm of the West Midlands club.
Moore almost did what seemed the impossible by almost keeping Albion in the Premier League last term, and his Baggies side have made an impressive start to life in the Championship after going unbeaten in four league games and sitting 3rd in the league table.
The Verdict
This could prove to be a smart move for the Baggies; Dowling seems to have done a good job wherever he has been at and could offer some support and experience to Moore ahead of Albion’s promotion push this term.

Cheers beefy, not to sure how to cut and paste on my tablet, he seems to be a good option, Dan Ashworth currently in talks with Albion, Brighton and Hove Albion about being their TD. Think he would have been better ...... but you know what they say about not going back .......
Wouldn't want him to ruin his legacy by coming back and being less than a success ....... big Ron came back .... didn't work out, Jonny Giles's return not a great success etc etc ........ really don't want Big Dave to tarnish his legend status ....... when he leaves, and he will, all managers do, I hope this hero comes out intact. But I hope beyond hope that he can do a Fergie and be our boss for 26+ years and bring the glory home ...... despite the bias of the FA.

Welcome aboard Luke Dowling.
He did a good job at Watford and had a good scouting network outside of the UK which is what we really lack thanks to Tony Pulis. Hopefully he can provide some good foreign options for Big Dave in January and most importantly he and Big Dave can work well together.

Well lm disappointed in this and have just tweeted Matt Wilson to see if we have actually ever made a call to him to get him back here
Dowling: “If you go back seven or eight years, Albion were the club to be replicated. Albion were ahead of the game. Outside the top four, as it was then, the remit was to work ‘the West Brom way’. That’s a big compliment and we want to try to get back to that as best we can."
In 2014 he was appointed Watford sporting director, and during his three years at the Hornets he helped take Etienne Capoue and Abdoulaye Doucoure to Vicarage Road.
He left the club by mutual consent in August 2017 before Forest appointed him in February this year.
