Europa League quali 2nd leg: Molde v Hibs - 0762 - 13-08-2018

It is still "all to play for" in this showdown in Norway after that 0-0 stalemate at ER when the Molde goalie had some stunning saves to deny Stevie Mallan and David Gray! How on earth do we beat this guy, Linde!? We create the goal opps again and try to "bury them" in his goal net this time! This looks like a similar scenario to the Brondby EL tie in Sweden last season but this time lets hope we can battle for that score draw or narrow win that will see us through to that final play off round. C'mon Hibs!

Looks like their top player, Halland, will be playing in spite of the transfer activity that will see him go to Salzburg. Hibs must try to keep this lad quiet as he appears to be a major factor in Molde's performances being so good. Also forgot to mention tonight's game being played on another artificial pitch, my pet hate TBF! Makes it a lottery on that kinda compromised surface IMO!

Hibs losing 3-0 with mins to go and my warnings re the goal threat of this lad Halland are proved to be well founded!! They look like a one player side when it comes to the striking dept and why Neil Lennon didn't show some respect in deploying a tough man-marking job on this teenager is beyond me!!! We have been "found out" defensively and the tail end of this game was absolutely embarrassing with a solid defensive performance by Molde in both home and away legs. Jeezzz, this Euro tie should've been much closer than this but the better team, whose board will shortly be flogging their best player Halland, deservedly qualify to prob play off v a Dinamo Minsk side that will definitely annihilate them anyway.

Actually looks like Molde will be playing Zenit St Petersburg who have overturned a 4-0 away leg defeat and now lead 6-1 in ET, so 6-5 on aggregate.

0762,
Hibs have always been a poor side in away matches in Europe so I suppose losing does not come as too much of a shock but from what you say our preparation and set up could have had a huge bearing on the 3-0 score. We have to regroup and concentrate on the SPFL and push for more Europa nights next season.

Aye, gotta regroup asap! Also my son just confirmed that Zenit SP "showed up" tonight and pulverised Dinamo Minsk 8-1 after ET SCO!!! Wowww! What a turnaround and absolutely nae chance for Molde v this level of quality opponent who can "lift their game performance" in adversity.

One other criticism of Neil Lennon tonight was fielding Maclaren from the start! IMO Maclaren is not ready yet, not match fit! That was a bad move for this type of match!

Dissapointing, I think big marv going off affected us badly. Overall though we have done ourselves a real credit in these Europa games and earned a few quid for the club into the process, no shame in going out to a club that are into their season and have qualified for the CL.

I think we need a player who can play that killer pass, hopefully lennon will address that soon.
