NEW SEASON
The new season is upon us, one we have all been looking forward to with great anticipation, all the deadwood gone and all those exciting new signings....................... and then the reality hits home, only a couple of deadwood gone, not one new signing and very little optimism for the new season. Loovens & Wallace contracts weren't renewed, Hunt was signed by Bristol City & Rhodes has joined Norwich on a season long loan. George Hirst left for some foreign team, as for Sean Clare we offered him a contract and nothing has been heard since. Trying to find some positives, some of the young lads have signed professional contracts and a few of our long term injured seem to be on there way slowly back.

A tricky looking first game of the season as we play one of the promoted teams on the road. Wigan won League One and have a decent forward in Will Grigg who scored 26 goals last season and they will be hoping his goalscoring keeps them up this season. Ross Wallace was on trial at Wigan but they don't appear to have signed him. Wigan should expect a relegation battle for there first season back and if Grigg can score enough they might just survive.

Can't wait for the season to begin and we have something to talk about finally!! Not going to be any signings, so hopefully a fit squad and some youngsters who can rise to the occasion can see us at least challenge.
