Europa League 1st quali round: Hibs v NSI Runavik - 0762 - 12-07-2018 The 1st leg now fast approaching tomorrow night at ER Stadium and Hibs looking for a decent lead over this Faroese side before they head off to tackle the away 2nd leg. There should be a good turn out on a warm evening in Leith - should be good! RE: Europa League 1st quali round: Hibs v NSI Runavik - hibeejim21 - 12-07-2018 Skelp them hibs. RE: Europa League 1st quali round: Hibs v NSI Runavik - 0762 - 12-07-2018 FT and Hibs do indeed 'skelp' NSI with a 6-1 score line! Kamberi already 'on fire' with a notable 'hat trick' and Stevie Mallan scoring his debut goal for Hibs. So Lenny can relax and play a mixed team of youth and experience in the away leg. Great stuff! RE: Europa League 1st quali round: Hibs v NSI Runavik - Amelia Chaffinch - 13-07-2018 Can't believe we didn't keep a clean sheet after a very strong start. ![]() ![]() RE: Europa League 1st quali round: Hibs v NSI Runavik - hibeejim21 - 13-07-2018 Great result. 2nd leg we can treat like a pre-season game. Si Murray back in the fold, but the jury is still out on him I feel. Mallan looks a very decent acquisition. We will need at least one more midfielder going forward, bearing in mind slivka may feature more this season. There is definitely a player in there. RE: Europa League 1st quali round: Hibs v NSI Runavik - 0762 - 13-07-2018 Yep! I agree Jim - a few 'tweaks' for Lenny to ponder and apply to Hibs player squad before the end of August. Re Simon Murray's position? I'm unsure! We need a couple of back up strikers - IMO it's a big footie season coming up for Ollie Shaw but AN Other striker required. RE: Europa League 1st quali round: Hibs v NSI Runavik - 0762 - 19-07-2018 http://www.hibernianfc.co.uk/news/8976 FT in the 2nd leg cup tie and a 4-6 Hibs win! What an entertaining, high scoring match with Lenny resting Paul Hanlon and Darren Mac and John McGinn given a run out. Hibs 2-0 down in the 1st 5 mins and one must assume that some Hibs players assumed they just had to "show up" for this match after that 6-1 romp in the 1st leg! What a rude awakening and some sloppy defending! Anyway, job done and we move on to the next quali round. RE: Europa League 1st quali round: Hibs v NSI Runavik - hibeejim21 - 20-07-2018 What a mental game ![]() It was always kind of on the cards to be a bit mad after such an emphatic win at home. It was virtually a pre-season kickabout with a makeshift defence. We are going to need to be much more 'on it' for the next tie. But i think the manager will have factored that in. Mcginn playing means he ain't going to celtic any time soon. RE: Europa League 1st quali round: Hibs v NSI Runavik - ritchiebaby - 21-07-2018 We won't be resting Hanlon and MacGregor again anytime soon, but it shows we don't have any depth of defensive talent in the squad. To my mind Ambrose and Whittaker are a bit of a liability, so only one at a time please. Stevie Mallan will undoubtedly be our best chance of progress when McGinn goes. We've a bit to go yet but things are looking OK at the minute in the pre-season games. RE: Europa League 1st quali round: Hibs v NSI Runavik - 0762 - 21-07-2018 Aye! Defensively I thought there were lessons learnt after that ultimate high scoring league match v Rangers last season. The use of only certain Hibs defenders provided ample proof of a clear defensive frailty that Lenny needs to avoid. |
