World Cup Tables (Round 3 scores) - bomberbrown1968 - 29-06-2018 While anything can still happen in the final round of games in the Group stage, the 2 current holders of the qualifying places strengthened their grip on them as they scrambled for points this round, which proved to be a damn sight harder than it looked when Beefy posted the games up last week. St Charles takes over at the top getting correct results on half of them, and two spot on scores which helped to see him carry a 2 point lead into the last round of games starting tomorrow, which could prove vital with only 8 games to take a punt on. Stairs remained ultra consistent and holds 2nd spot bagging 5 results and more importantly two of them being correct scores to sit 9 points ahead of 3rd, where we find Salop who clings onto a realistic chance of qualifying thanks, in the main to the last two matches of the round in which he got two correct results, with one of them happening to be the Gamball which resulted in a 7 point swing in his favour over his three rivals. Only a solitary point away and still very much in contention for the knockout stages is DD, who couldn't repeat his heroics of the last round but who is still close enough if good enough in the last 8 games ![]() Bomber MD3 didn't live up to the scoring in MD2 for Group 2 but the spread of scores certainly has reshaped the group table with one round left to go. Zinman came out on top with 21 points, 3rd different top points scorer in three weeks!! Zinman again kept up his protest about the Gamball and again it paid off for him as he got it wrong but by not playing it saved 3 points!!! Some would call him a pussy for not playing it but I for one wouldn't do that, he is just a terrible Gamball game predictor!! In second place was Vicar with 19 points. Like Zinman he benefited from a 5 point haul on his Score ball game and picked up a correct result on the Gamball but dropped points on his BB which left him two points behind the top score this week. Matt came in 3rd with 15 points by being consistent in picking up points in half of the games. Missed on the Gamball and BB and this is what let him down in the end. 4eva came in 4th on 8 points. Not a good week for him, only picking up points on 4 games, although one was the Gamball. Joker, leading the Group table going into the round had a complete 'mare, picking up only the solitary point!!! He picked up points on only 3 games, so got 13 incorrect including his Gamball, BB and Score Ball !!!!! This one week will see a huge swing in the table as we will see when Bomber adds these scores onto the first 2 weeks!! Cheers SCO Groups 3 & 4 to follow ![]() For round 2, I commented that the World Cup had clearly become predictable, with Group 3 scoring a total of 126 points from 15 matches. It appears that in this round, the group returned to their true form with a grand total of just 39 points - and that was only after a dramatic late improvement. With 1 round to go it looks like the 2 qualifying places are between our top 3, Beefy and Worldclass having apparently given up. Derby stays top and extends his lead by 1 point over BBB, benefiting from correct scores in the round. BBB remains in 2nd, matching Derby's 6 correct result predictions and gaining a rare extra point from the scoreball. Quantum remains in touch despite only getting 3 correct result predictions - fortunately one of them was the gamball, the only competitor to gain from this evil creation. Beefy (the reigning champion in case you'd forgotten) at least climbed off the bottom of the table but surely a 24 point deficit is too much for even him to claw back ![]() A clean sweep of wrong bonus balls for this group - somehow I feel this may be a theme for round 3. Zin Well this is short and sweet Not much to see here ![]() Twerton & Bomber came equal top both had the identical scores and actually reading through their scores it's come to my attention that almost every prediction was almost the same. Now I'm not one to cast aspersions but if I was Twerton I would be pretty miffed if someone was copying my scores , hence my decision to put Twerton at the top. Regarding bomber I have called a emergency meeting with the other two chaps you know them two about the possible expulsion of Bomber from the World cup. Not SH*T stirring I promise ![]() Both for the record scored 9 points , Baggie one and Amelia scored a lowly 3 points in third and fourth while Snoots bagged a solitary point in his attempt to get out of Russia ASAP .................. Beefy ![]() FOOTNOTE ; A COPY OF BEEFY'S WRITE UP IS NOW WITH MY SOLICITORS AS I PURSUE A CLAIM FOR DEFAMATION OF CHARACTER. FOR THE RECORD ; BAGGIONE HAD 12 THE SAME AS TWERTON, SNOOTY HAD 10, AMELIA HAD 8 AND I HAD 13. A TIP FOR ALL THE OTHER PREDICTORS ; IF YOU WANT TO SCORE 35 MEASLY POINTS OVER 48 GAMES THEN COPY BEEFY'S ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: World Cup Tables (Round 3 scores) - Beefy 1965 - 29-06-2018 No !! as your table clearly shows you and Twerton both had 9 points , Counter claim noted and contested ![]() RE: World Cup Tables (Round 3 scores) - St Charles Owl - 02-07-2018 Going to be a tight finish going into the last round of games, thankfully for me there are only 8 games to screw up my lead!!! RE: World Cup Tables (Round 3 scores) - Beefy 1965 - 02-07-2018 Drastically there are only 8 games for me to pull of a miracle ![]() |
