Aitor Karanka is smashing Nottingham Forest's transfer record with the £13.2 million capture of Benfica midfielder Joao Carvalho.
Karanka will be backed this summer with significant funds and Carvalho, a Portugal U21 international, is set to have a medical on Thursday.
Carvalho's Benfica team-mate, winger Diogo Goncalves, is also flying into England on Wednesday night and will join Forest on loan for the rest of the season.
