Winter Break - Arcane Astral Aeons - 08-06-2018

so the premier league is having a 2 week winter break from 2019/20 season
the rest of the leagues wont get one.

does the snow/bad weather only affect premier league grounds then?
pathetic decision

protecting the overpaid premier league big boys yet again?

RE: Winter Break - WBA-Josh - 08-06-2018

I’m in favour of a winter break but having it in February and only in the Premier League is ridiculous.

In my opinion we should have one from the weekend before Christmas (after the matches on the Saturday) through to New Years Day when the season would resume. The problem with it through is it would obviously slap in the face of English footballing tradition so a lot of fans probably wouldn’t be in favour of it.

And those poor under paid footballers will no doubt be playing friendlies in exotic places duering the break

I don't think I would Josh, only from remembering when my uncle used to come to games with me and he could only usually go during the xmas period due to work commitments the rest of the season, apart from the occasional bank holiday. That said who is getting so tired that they can't play through, some would argue it gives the lesser mortals a chance in games, if the opposition is 'tired'. That said most of the top 6 could still field a reserve team which would be better than most other clubs first team.
The sooner they disappear into the 'super league' the better for football as a whole.
